Hello WOTers!
TODAY, WE'RE GOING TO INTRODUCE THE LAST TANK TO JOIN THE SUPERTEST, THE Y-SERIES TIER VI MEDIUM TANK, THE COMRES 75, WHICH SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE GAME AS A GOLD TANK IN THE FUTURE. So, does it have a real historical prototype? What about in-game parameters? Let's take a look.
Historical information
The Conrith 75 was a design proposed by the British Combat Vehicle Research and Development Agency (FVRDE) in 1968, and only one prototype was built. It arranged both the gun and the automatic loader in a narrow structure on top of the hull, and also set a precedent for the layout of the tank over-the-top gun. Specifically, the COMRES 75 was based on the hull of the Comet cruiser, with the turret removed and replaced with a 20-pounder gun with a B-barrel barrel, a long barrel-shaped ammunition container on each side of the barrel, and an automatic loading device at the rear of the tail. The artillery system was protected by an armored shield with smoke grenade launchers on the sides. The tank was scrapped in 1971.
Strictly speaking, the Conrith 75 was not a serious tank solution, and the Comet tank was mounted on a wooden model to verify the overhead gun layout, with the advantage that the frontal projection of the turret was minimal and the crew was arranged in the hull, which facilitated collective protection. The Conrith 75, the pioneer of this layout, set off a wave of overhead gun design, whether it was the German KPz 3, the French EPC ("Leclerc" early research), the Swedish UDES, or the British's own MBT-95, all of which adopted a similar layout.
In fact, with the technical level represented by the Conrith 75, it is completely qualified to put it in the position of a more advanced tank - for example, the restoration of the historical automatic loader, the clip gun set to 2-4 bursts, and the artillery restoration of the classic 20-pounder gun B of the Y series in the game, which may create a VIII Tier VIII tank that performs comparable to the "Auriga". However, it is assumed that in the test suit, the tank had only one single-shot 20-pounder gun, and although the single-shot damage was preserved, the penetration depth and accuracy were greatly reduced, and finally received the status of a Class VI midtan.

Performance breakdown
While the 230-point order for the 20-pounder gun may seem a bit "guasha" on Tier VIII vehicles such as the Centurion, FV4202, and AT15, it is powerful on the Tier VI mid-tank - in addition to the "trolls", this value is second only to the 240 points of the 90mm guns such as the P.43 B and 40TP H, and it also has the high penetration depth and relatively better accuracy that the latter can only dream of. As a counterbalance, the Conrith-75 has a relatively low rate of fire, taking 9.2 seconds to reload a single shot, but for a tank with a high single shot, the rate of fire is not the core parameter, and the quality of each shell is more critical.
On paper, the armor of the Conrith 75 is no different from its predecessor, the Comet, and even the turret protection is weaker, but its actual survivability is much stronger. This is due to the unique turret layout – which is basically slightly wider than the barrel when viewed from the front. The tank also has a staggering 14-degree depression angle, which allows the vehicle to be completely hidden behind cover when selling its head, making it extremely difficult for the enemy to hit its "pixel-class" turret, especially for Tier IV tanks with poor accuracy and gun control. For balance reasons, we speculate that the triple expansion coefficient of the Conrith 75 may not be too good.
In terms of maneuverability, the Conrith 75 is a little weaker than the Comet, and is on par with the T-34-85 in its class, which is a passable level for a support medium. And what is surprising is that this Zhongtan actually has a field of view of 380 meters, which is not only the top level in the same level of Zhongtanli, but also second only to the 400 meters of Big Max and the 390 meters of the 64 type in all tanks in the same level. It's a pity that the concealment of the car is not outstanding, and it is still a little difficult to make a cameo in the endgame.
Write at the end
Overall, the Conrith 75 is a bit of a shame that it didn't compete with its more advanced rivals, but as a Tier VI tank, it has excellent performance and distinctive characteristics, making it a very promising tank. Please note that the data in this article is only the first version of the supertest on June 14, and may be further adjusted as the test is carried out. What do you think of it?
