Recently, China Mobile, together with Bai Caibang and ZED Mobile, successfully opened the first set of high-power macro base stations based on the "Breaking Wind 8676" reconfigurable 5G RF transceiver chip design in Zambia, and based on the 5G service of this base station, the three parties conducted a remote video connection dialogue, marking that the "Breaking Wind 8676" chip, as one of the top ten central enterprises in 2023, has successfully gone to sea for the first time and provided low-cost and high-quality services for "Belt and Road" partners. It has laid a good foundation for the mainland's independent innovation and scientific and technological achievements to go overseas on a large scale.
In order to solve the 5G network deployment needs of ZED Mobile, an emerging operator in Zambia, a partner of the "Belt and Road", such as low cost, reliable performance and rapid deployment, China Mobile based on the large-scale commercial experience of 5G and the frequency situation of ZED Mobile, jointly proposed a three-mode and four-band base station solution based on the "Breaking Wind 8676" reconfigurable 5G RF transceiver chip, which can greatly reduce the cost of the site and the demand for supporting resources, and achieve rapid commercial deployment. It is expected that by the end of 2025, 100 units will be deployed, covering an additional area of more than 100 square kilometers, providing strong help for ZED Mobile to expand the market.
Abdul Ally, CEO of ZED Mobile, said: "China Chips provides excellent quality and affordable prices, which solves ZED Mobile's network pain points. Chinese technology has really helped us build 5G networks quickly. Sun Lixin, CEO of Baicaibang, said: "It is a great honor to cooperate with China Mobile to carry the 'Breaking Wind 8676' chip to bring more value and cost-effective services to overseas operator customers. ”
Hu Zhenping, Deputy General Manager of the Science and Technology Innovation Department of China Mobile Corporation, said: "Based on the positioning of a world-class information service technology innovation company, China Mobile has successfully developed the 'Breaking Wind 8676' reconfigurable 5G RF transceiver chip in three years, which has become one of the landmark achievements of independent and controllable research on core chips in the field of information and communication in mainland China. At present, the 'Breaking Wind 8676' chip has been integrated in more than 30 wireless devices from 14 manufacturers, including CITIC, Comba, Ruijie, Baicaibang and China Mobile's self-developed products, meeting the centralized procurement standards of operators. The successful launch of the 'Breaking Wind 8676' chip has laid a solid foundation for China's scientific and technological innovation achievements to serve the informatization construction of the 'Belt and Road' partners. ”
Huang Yuhong, President of China Mobile Research Institute, said: "China Mobile has accumulated rich experience in the construction and operation of 4G/5G networks, which is of great reference value for overseas operators in providing high-level communication services. We are willing to share these experiences with our industry partners and share China Mobile's technological innovations in the ICT field." At the same time, we sincerely invite ZED Mobile to join the global TD-LTE initiative (GTI) and work together to promote the vigorous development of the TDD industry around the world, accelerate its commercialization process, and create a brilliant future together. ”
China Mobile bravely assumes the important task of "chain leader" of the modern mobile information industry chain, actively practices high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-reliance, gives full play to its own R&D accumulation and domestic industrial chain advantages, and promotes the independence and controllability of key equipment of 5G networks. As the "core" of a major country, "Breaking Wind 8676" will protect the "Belt and Road" and help our partners build low-cost and high-reliability mobile communication networks. China Mobile will continue to work with industry partners to continue to promote the use of the "Breaking Wind 8676" chip in more "Belt and Road" countries and help more Chinese communications companies go global.
