Previous recap: Dax International, also a classic European long distance race, has not been held for more than 10 years. At last year's St. Vincent International Championship, due to heavy rain and strong winds at the venue, there was a "division accident" after the change of the venue, and the organizers were disqualified by the KBDB from holding many races. In 2024, St. Vincent was abandoned and the organisers changed it directly to Dax International.

Dax is located in a small town in Landes, Aquitaine, in southern France, 800-1000 km from the six participating countries. The number of pigeons in this race is a bit lower than in the other races, because at this time of year the Barcelona race has just ended, and the national long distance races are also in contention for the key races.

There have been many heroes in the international races from Dax in the past, and the most famous pigeon is Dee Dee Jr. Kleine Didi, BE92-3000607, a yellow-eyed grey, was the late Belgium pigeon champion · Devos KBDB National Ace Pigeon Long Distance! In 1995, 1996 and 1997, Didi Junior competed in the long distance for three consecutive years, and he won great results: in 1995 he competed in three international races from Pau, Dax and Perpignan and finished in the top 100 and won the title of 1st Provincial Ace Pigeon KBDB.

In 1996 Didi Jr. continued to compete in Pau and Perpignan, and both were shortlisted for top prizes. In 1997 he was sent to the races again, first with a 19th National from Pau, then a national first prize from Dax and then a national second prize from Perpignan! With this impressive result, Didi Kleine became the 1st Ace Pigeon Long Distance KBDB in 1997 and became the "Wonder Bird" of the year.
