▲ Project 430 in World of Tanks
Hello World of Tanks players, for researchable tanks on the tech tree, when the vehicle is just being developed and there is a lack of various R&D accessories, it is called the "tabula rasa period". However, some tanks have "no blank slate period", such as the Project 430 Project U-shaped IX tank on the U-shaped line, Project 430, which used to be a well-known S-series X-class medium tank, and later became a "little brother". This god of war Zhongtan, who has been "not a big brother for many years", can he still dominate now?
He was also the eldest brother of the S department
▲ Project 430 in the same frame as the T-62A and 140 projects
Project 430 was originally added to the game in World of Tanks version 0.8.10 as an S-series Tier X medium tank, alongside the T-62A and Project 140. Project 430 was developed by Project 416 and Project 430 Type II, and was not developed by T-62A and Project 140 like Project 54. The main gun of the Project 430 has a faster rate of fire, which is faster than that of the S series X-class medium tanks of the same period. However, the gun control of Project 430 is relatively poor, and its main gun aiming time, accuracy and circle expansion coefficient are basically the worst among the five X-class medium tanks in the S series, which makes Project 430 more suitable for close-range hand-to-hand combat than "brothers". In subsequent updates, the 430 project line was optimized, and the new 430 project U-shape replaced the original position of the 430 project, and the 430 project went to the IX level as the "little brother".
Tank features and gameplay
▲The 430 project has almost no "tabula rasa period"
Project 430 was transferred from Class X to Class IX, and the main gun was changed from 100 mm guns to 122 mm guns. Moreover, the 430 project does not need to develop any artillery, only this 122 mm gun is available, and the accessories that the tank can develop are engines and tracks. This makes Project 430 almost no "blank slate", which has a considerable advantage over other Tier IX researchable tanks such as the Skoda T50.
▲Project 430 is suitable for melee combat with the enemy
Compared to the usual 100 mm medium tank gun of the S series, this 122 mm caliber tank gun successfully allowed the 430 Project to have a high single shot damage that the S series medium tanks did not dare to think of. Project 430 also inherited the characteristics of the S-series/C-series medium tanks, which generally had poor depression angles: the vehicle only had a -5° depression angle, which was quite a disadvantage in the undulating terrain. In version 1.10, the triple expansion factor of the 430 artillery has been weakened, which means that the expansion circle of the 430 artillery has become larger. But for Project 430, which is originally focused on hand-to-hand combat, this change is nothing, after all, as long as it is close enough, it is fine.
▲The defense of the tank is good
Project 430's defense performance is good, its turret is extremely rounded, and it has excellent jumping performance. In the case of a frontal situation, the equivalent of the turret frontal AP shell is around 300 mm. The armor plate on the nose of the hull can bounce off a lot of shells at a small angle in actual combat. However, the side of the 430 project body is still relatively poor, and another characteristic is that it has always had a high fire rate. Because in its not too large body, there are actually 5 fuel tank modules that are not small in size. There is a fuel tank on the left and right sides of the driver, and another in front of the commander's feet, which makes the 430 Project hit the fuel tank once it is penetrated by the upper and lower armor. It also has 2 fuel tanks in the tail, which, together with the ammo rack and engine module, form a terrible area of weakness.
▲The mobility of Project 430 is not outstanding
The track resistance of the 430 project is relatively low, but its engine power is also somewhat low, if there is no research and development engine, then the unit power of the tank is only 13.68, which is even inferior to some heavy tanks. This makes the 430 Project have a top speed of 50 km/h, but it takes a long time for the tank to reach the top speed, and it will feel a little "bulky" to drive. The vision of the 430 project is not very good, and its own concealment value is good, and it can also "light up" the team and provide vision support when necessary.
▲If you want to play well, you need to control it correctly
If you want to play the 430 project well, there are a few points to pay attention to:
- It is advisable to carry an automatic fire extinguisher or install "structural adjustment" accessories: Project 430 has an unusually high fire rate, which means that it often loses more health, which is not what it was designed for.
- Tanks are suitable for flat ground melee: Project 430's gun control and depression angles are not very good, and the tank is not suitable for sniping enemies from a distance or selling their heads in the mountains. The flat terrain of the town is much friendlier to Project 430.
- Team Combat Enhances Mobility: Project 430 is less mobile, so if you want to work with other medium tanks, or if you want to fight in a team, you can consider installing accessories such as turbochargers to improve your tank's mobility.
▲ It is still an excellent medium tank
The combat style of the Project 430 is in the same vein as the Project 430 U-Shape, and they are both medium tanks that are well suited for close combat with the enemy. The large-caliber main gun allows Project 430 to undertake front-line close-range combat to a certain extent, and high-explosive shells are also very domineering when dealing with weakly armored vehicles, relying on tank flexibility and turret defense to engage in hand-to-hand combat with the enemy. It also has a "short blank slate" and is still a good Tier IX medium tank.
