As a part of traditional Chinese culture, face painting has rich historical connotations and unique artistic charm. According to the urban arrangement for minors' summer activities, the Huangpi District Library will carry out an intangible cultural heritage face painting activity for teenagers in the Huatian Community Study Room of Panlong City on July 30, 2024, which not only helps teenagers understand and love traditional culture, but also has far-reaching significance for their personal growth and social development.
Experience traditional culture
As an important part of traditional Chinese opera culture, face painting is a precious spiritual wealth of the Chinese nation due to its unique art form and rich cultural connotation. The library has launched a face-painting activity that allows young people to draw their own faces and experience the charm of traditional culture, thereby enhancing their sense of cultural identity and pride.
Edifying the artistic atmosphere
The face-painting activity involves painting, color matching, composition and other artistic elements, which can cultivate the aesthetic taste and artistic accomplishment of young people. Through participating in the activities, young people can learn basic drawing skills and color knowledge, and improve their artistic expression and creativity.
Library and community staff organized nearly 30 primary school students in several communities in Panlong City to carry out youth intangible cultural heritage face painting activities. Through this activity, not only did the young people in our district better understand the traditional culture and feel the charm of traditional culture, but also cultivated their aesthetic taste and artistic accomplishment, and promoted their personal growth. In the next stage, the district library will continue to actively carry out such activities, sow the seeds of promoting and inheriting traditional culture, and let more young people understand and fall in love with traditional culture.
