On September 9th, the exhibition of "Ancient Masterpieces and Brilliant Culture-Classics of Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture" opened at the National Library of China (National Museum of Classics). The vivid exhibition form brings the precious ancient books of traditional Chinese culture to life and shortens the distance with the audience.
On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the founding of the National Library, the National Library of China specially planned the "Ancient Masterpieces and Brilliant Cultural Context - Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture Classics Exhibition", which united with 8 libraries and museums in the country to select rare books and unearthed documents, including oracle bones, slips, stone carvings, rare books and other types, rooted in the Chinese context, focusing on the profound connotation of classics, and at the same time displaying the achievements of projects such as the "Chinese Ancient Books Protection Plan" and "100 Classics of Chinese Traditional Culture".
The exhibition is divided into five sections: "National Yuan Canon", "Axial Age", "Chinese Unification", "Exchange and Mutual Learning" and "Cultural Peak", and introduces the compilation project of "100 Classics of Chinese Traditional Culture" and the "Chinese Ancient Books Protection Plan".
The first unit, "National Yuan Canon", starts from the "Five Classics", shows the majestic and profound thoughts of the five national canons of "Yi", "Shu", "Poems", "Rites" and "Spring and Autumn", and then to the "Thirteen Classics" that have been continuously expanded and formed by later generations of scholars, revealing the values and moral norms of the Chinese nation passed down from generation to generation.
The second unit, "The Axial Age", presents the first prosperous era in the history of Chinese culture and thought - the era of a hundred schools of thought, where people with lofty ideals put forward a series of theoretical ideas and actively carried out social practice of applying what they have learned, such as Confucianism, Mohistism, Taoism, Legalism, and soldiers...... The fierce confrontation collided with sparks of wisdom, and these great ideas transcended time and space and still shine with the light of wisdom today.
The third unit, "The Unification of China", sorts out the proposal, in-depth interpretation and expansion of the concept of "great unification", and expounds that the unity of political system, legal principles, laws and regulations, geographical space, and even culture and education is the enduring and enduring solid foundation of the concept of "great unification" through various types of classics such as historical books, maps, and geographical documents, revealing that "great unification" is an important cultural bond to maintain the development of the Chinese national community, and it is also the common pursuit and value identity of the Chinese people in the depths of their emotions.
The fourth unit, "Exchange and Mutual Learning", showcases the long-standing cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and reflects the openness, inclusiveness and inclusiveness of Chinese civilization.
The fifth unit, "Cultural Peak", shows the crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese nation in different fields such as mathematics, art, science and technology, as well as the literary works that carry the elegance and spiritual pursuit of literati and ink writers, such as the Book of Songs, Chu Ci, Han Fu, Tang Poetry, Song Ci, Yuan Qu, Ming and Qing Dynasty novels, etc., connecting the majestic growth of Chinese culture and comprehensively presenting the brilliant Chinese civilization.
This exhibition exhibits a total of 54 kinds of 75 precious exhibits, including the National Library of Song Chunxi's seventh year (1180) Chiyang County Zhai carved book "Shan Hai Jing", Xiping Stone Classic "Shangshu · Yaodian" remnants, Song Jiading ten years (1217) Dangtu County Zhai carved Jiaxi four years (1240), Chunyou eight years (1248) and twelve years (1252) of the revised version of the "Four Books and Chapters and Sentences Collection Notes", Song Shaoxing two to three years (1132-1133) Liangzhejiang East Road Tea and Salt Division Minister Ku carved "Zizhi Tongjian", Song carved book " Mr. Tao Jingjie's poems", Shandong Museum collection of "Gongdian" bones, etc.
In order to enhance the audience's experience in an all-round way and make the exhibition process more interesting, various forms of multimedia interactive exhibits are set up in the exhibition hall to lead the audience to use new technologies to enter the world of classics. Entering the exhibition hall, the audience can see the large immersive transparent LED screen that plays the exhibition-themed video in a loop, and the audience can see the exhibition inside the exhibition hall through the screen while watching the video, and the foreground of the screen and the back of the exhibition hall are integrated; The wall of the exhibition hall is equipped with a gauze atmosphere projection, which sets off the classical atmosphere for the whole exhibition; The interactive area of the long special touch screen map is used to expand the content with the exhibits; The dialogue area of 100 classics ancient and modern uses the timeline as a retrieval method to display the content of 100 classics; The interactive transparent screen of the display case can sense the audience to automatically display the content of "Chu Ci" at the designated point position, and touch the screen to learn more about the exhibits, creating a unique way for the audience to read and interact. The exhibition hall is equipped with a millimeter-wave radar sensing system, which can save energy and improve the service life of the equipment on the one hand, and greatly reduce the exposure time of light-sensitive cultural relics on the other hand, and extend the safe display cycle of paper cultural relics.
In addition, the exhibition hall also provides a free audio guide in Chinese and English that scans the QR code to listen to and read, so you can expand your reading and view more exhibits-related resources.
The exhibition is organized by the National Library of China (National Center for the Protection of Ancient Books and the National Museum of Classic Books), and co-organized by Liaoning Provincial Library, Shanghai Library, Nanjing Library, Zhejiang Library, Shandong Museum, Guangdong Provincial Zhongshan Library, Gansu Bamboo Slips Museum, and Jingzhou Museum. The exhibition is open to the public today (10 September) in the first exhibition hall of the National Museum of Classic Books.
