The "24 solar terms" in paper-cutting
The "24 solar terms" is the accumulation and wisdom crystallization of the long-term production and life experience of the ancient working people in the mainland, and is known as "China's fifth great invention". In order to promote the "24 solar terms" farming culture, Yang Xiuling, the intangible cultural heritage inheritor of Yuncheng County, and paper-cutting artists such as Sun Qi, Zhang Lu, Zhang Xiuyun, Han Lihua, and Liu Xianling used traditional paper-cutting techniques to create a group of "24 solar terms". The works focus on the season, climate, phenology, and people's production, life, and customs of the 24 solar terms, highlighting the Chinese humanistic spirit and aesthetic taste.
