AirAsia X will also play a key role in providing Kenya travellers with easy access to key destinations in Asia via Kuala Lumpur via AirAsia's connecting service. In addition, the route will tie in with Malaysia's upcoming "Malaysia Year of Tourism 2026" campaign and will increase Malaysia's attractiveness as a premier tourist destination offering multi-element experiences. Kuala Lumpur will be a major gateway for visitors to Nairobi, giving them direct access to Malaysia's major attractions and cultural landmarks, beautiful scenery and rich cuisine.

Benjamin Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia X said, "We are delighted to be able to officially launch our new non-stop service to Nairobi next month. This is an important milestone in our mission to connect Asia and Africa, and to open up a world of travel opportunities between the two continents. Our route marketing partnership with Tourism Kenya demonstrates our commitment to expanding tourism opportunities and promoting tourism. This new route will play a key role in the growth of tourism in Kenya and provide new route links for tourists. For our other major destinations such as China, it is easier to get to Nairobi afterwards. Tourists can embark on an adventure to explore Africa with just a layover in Kuala Lumpur, giving them more travel options. ”
