Yesterday, the six-day Beijing International Shell Exhibition entered the last day, and many citizens and tourists also took advantage of the tail of the holiday to go to the "Moving Shell Museum" to enjoy a "shell feast".
At about 10 o'clock yesterday morning, the Beijing International Shell Exhibition on the 5th floor of Chaoyang Hopson Hui has been flooded with many people, including some shell lovers and parents who led their children to visit the exhibition. Eight-year-old Yu Tong carefully selected the brocade snails, long-spined star snails, flat boat snails, broad boat snails, and crab specimens of different shapes along the booths in the exhibition area...... He was dazzled by the variety of shells and ornaments, photo frames, refrigerator magnets and other shell products on the more than 50 stalls. "I didn't pick up shells when I took him to the beach before, and he never forgot it. This time, when he saw the news of the shell exhibition, he took the initiative to ask me to take him to have a look. Yu Tong's mother, Ms. Ma, said that the variety of shells on the exhibition is so rich that it is like a museum, which has increased her and her children's knowledge.
In addition to the "shell fans" children, there are also elderly shell lovers who come to visit the exhibition. "I have traveled to many countries due to my work, met and fell in love with collecting seashells abroad, and have been doing so for 40 years." Mr. Shi, a 78-year-old shell enthusiast, has a bad leg, but he still insists on coming with his wife. Mr. Shi said that this exhibition has many shells from abroad, which are difficult to see in ordinary times, and it has also opened his eyes.
Andres, an exhibitor from Argentina, is participating in the Beijing International Shell Exhibition for the first time, he used to be a university teacher, and out of his love for shells, he has now changed his career to become a shell merchant. "This time I brought more than 30 seashells and sold two-thirds of them." Andres said that he was very happy to see that there were many children at the scene who asked curiously, as if he had seen himself who had been fascinated by shells since he was a child. Andres put a lot of effort into creating different information labels for each shell, with the shell's name, size, place of discovery, age, and a short commentary, along with his own name and contact information. "I didn't come to the exhibition just to buy and sell, but more importantly, I wanted to spread more knowledge about shells." Andres said that this exhibition has given him a full harvest and a sense of achievement.
"There are more than 50 exhibitors participating in the Beijing International Shell Exhibition, including more than 20 foreign exhibitors, with more than 4,000 types of shells and more than 10,000 visitors every day." The relevant person in charge of the organizer of this exhibition said that the exhibition is very popular with everyone, and they will hold an exhibition in Beijing in the future to bring you a "shell feast".
