Beike Public Welfare launched the "Fall Prevention Health Exercise" to help the elderly improve their awareness of "fall prevention".

This year's Double Ninth Festival is the twelfth statutory festival for the elderly in mainland China. With the rapid growth of the elderly population, how to help the elderly live a better life has become a common concern in the society. At the same time, some new changes are taking place.

"Lao Wang, the mobile phone class you talked about today is open again, let's hurry up and sit in the front row." On an ordinary day, a community aunt beckons her old sister to the community room. In the mobile phone class in the community, they learned to use Alipay to pay utility bills, learned to build face-to-face groups, and learned how to send short videos.

The distance between the elderly and digital technology has been narrowed little by little, and this is closely related to the public welfare practice of related enterprises to help the elderly. At present, Beike Charity uses the "I will teach you to use your mobile phone" and "I will teach you to prevent falls" projects as a bridge to help the elderly cross the digital divide, reduce the risk and injury of falls, and improve the safe environment of the elderly at home, so as to help the elderly live a more convenient and worry-free old age.

It is understood that in 2018, Beike public welfare research found that the elderly residents in many communities regard the use of smartphones as the most urgent need. Smartphones can not only meet some of the daily needs of the elderly, but also bring great emotional connection value. In order to teach more elderly people to learn how to use smartphones, the Beike charity team carried out the "I'll teach you how to use a mobile phone" community charity class through Beike's linked brokerage brand stores and agent volunteers.

This year, in order to achieve extensive coverage of mobile phone classes, Beike Public Welfare "I will teach you to use mobile phones" project further launched the "10,000 mobile phone classes into the community" activity, bringing mobile phone classes to the elderly in more cities through the power of community volunteers, and providing online portals for the elderly to learn mobile phone-related knowledge for a long time and continuously, such as mini programs and live broadcasts.

As of October 11, the "I'll teach you how to use your mobile phone" project has entered 100 cities across the country, organized 19,445 mobile phone public welfare classes, carried out more than 70,000 mobile phone classes, and served more than one million elderly people. Among them, the stores and brokers of the six new brokerage brands connected to Beike Nanchang Station have carried out more than 540 community services through community public welfare activities such as community convenience services, earth beauty, college entrance examination service stations, and Baobei nursing, covering more than 20,000 community residents. The "I'll teach you how to use your mobile phone" public welfare class of the Elderly Helping the Elderly project has entered more than 60 communities, carried out more than 260 mobile phone training courses, and served more than 1,000 elderly people in the community; More than 800 broker volunteers, with a cumulative volunteer service of more than 3,000 hours, responded to the call of government departments to complement each other's advantages and build a better community.

In addition to vigorously carrying out mobile phone classes, Beike Public Welfare continues to explore in the field of helping the elderly according to the needs of the elderly. During last year's Chung Yeung Festival, Beike Charity officially launched the "I'll teach you to prevent falls" health public welfare project. The project was jointly initiated by the Beike Foundation and the Beijing Bethune Foundation, with professional support from the Department of Geriatrics of Peking Union Medical College Hospital. At the same time, relying on the tentacles of community stores, Beike Public Welfare has opened various easy-to-understand "fall prevention" health guidance classes for the elderly in the community, organized community "fall prevention" publicity and advocacy activities, and improved the awareness and ability of the elderly and their caregivers to prevent falls.

In September this year, Beike Charity launched the documentary "Life Never Falls", and jointly released the "Fall Prevention Health Exercise" with the Beijing Bethune Charity Foundation to help the elderly effectively prevent falls. On October 11, the day of the Chung Yeung Festival, Beike Charity and Tencent News jointly launched a warm and humorous short film "After Falling, I Went from 27 to 70", hoping to further raise the attention of the whole society to the topic of fall prevention. As of the end of September 2024, the "I'll teach you to prevent falls" health public welfare project has organized 352 fall prevention health public welfare classes in 11 cities across the country, carried out 1,456 fall prevention classes, and helped 29,000 elderly people understand "falls" related knowledge.

Jointly with the competent authorities and community streets, we will improve the awareness and ability of "fall prevention", effectively avoid the hidden dangers of falls, and let more elderly people live a healthy retirement life.

The continuous expansion of the silver-haired group is also accompanied by more and more realistic needs. At present, Beike Public Welfare has cooperated with Beike to provide a "hardware + software + service" home smart guardian program for the elderly who live at greater risk, taking the home safety protection of the silver-haired group as the starting point, and using advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, and 5G communication. This solution will monitor the behavior of the protected group 24 hours a day and respond to needs, reduce the risk of accidents, and use technology to make living safer and better.

Through the public welfare practices of Beike and other enterprises, it can be seen that the digital divide faced by the elderly is being bridged at an accelerated pace. At the same time, the silver-haired group is also entering a more healthy and scientific old age.
