The flood season has arrived
Heavy rainfall is frequent in many places
It is very easy to cause secondary disasters
Don't take it lightly
In case of mudslides
How do we deal with it?
Hazards of mudslides
Debris flow refers to a special torrent containing a large amount of sediment and rocks that exists in mountain valleys and is triggered by water sources such as heavy rainfall and ice and snow meltwater.
In a very short period of time, a large number of mudslides accompanied by floods rampage, rushing out of the ditch, burying houses, crops, people and animals, destroying all kinds of facilities, washing away roads, blocking rivers, and even silting up villages and towns, bringing great harm to life, property and economic construction.
Who is vulnerable to mudslides?
- Residents who build their houses at the foot of steep hillsides or in ravines;
- People who go to the mountains to play and work in bad weather;
- People who do not understand the rainstorm warning information and flash flood information, and move on the high mountains or steep slopes of steep mountains and rivers on both sides of streams and rivers in prone areas without authorization;

- People who are unprepared for continuous heavy rainfall, sleeping in the open or resting in simple houses near the ravine at night;
- During the flash flood and debris flow, people who hurriedly crossed the river and crossed the bridge to escape at will.
How can you tell if a mudslide has occurred?
First of all, you should listen to whether there is a rainstorm warning forecast in time, and under this premise, you can also judge according to the precursors of mudslides:
- The river suddenly stops flowing, or the water potential suddenly increases, and the water is mixed with a lot of firewood, grass, and trees, and the water flow is turbid.
- There is a roar like a truck or a heavy truck in a deep valley or ditch.
- The depths of the ravine suddenly became dim and there was a slight sensation of vibration.
How to prevent mudslides?
1. Residents in areas prone to debris flow should pay attention to the rainstorm warning and forecast at any time, choose a good evacuation route, pay attention to the surrounding environment, be especially vigilant against abnormal sounds such as landslides and flood roars from afar, and actively prepare for debris flows.
2. When staying or moving in a ravine, in case of heavy rain or heavy rain, quickly move to a safe high ground, and do not take shelter or stay at the bottom of a low-lying valley or under a steep hillside.
3. When you find a debris flow coming, do not run upstream or downstream in the direction of the river ditch, but climb up the slopes on both sides perpendicular to the direction of the torrent, and never run downstream of the debris flow.
4. If you get stuck in a mudslide, don't call for help, the mud and sand will block your mouth. Hold on to the big object and move towards the shore.
5. People who have been evacuated from the danger zone before the mudslide should not return to collect their belongings.
6. If you are trapped, contact the relevant departments as soon as possible, report your location and danger, and actively seek rescue.
