Methods of identification of porcine cysticercosis

author:Search pig network

Cysticercosis is a parasitic disease caused by the parasitism of cysticercosis (cysticercosis) in the muscles of pigs. People commonly call the meat of pigs suffering from cysticercosis as rice pork.

Pigs suffering from swine cysticercosis generally have no obvious clinical symptoms before death, so it is more difficult to diagnose pigs before they die, as long as they usually pay attention to careful observation of the pigs, they can still be comprehensively analyzed from the clinical response of pigs to identify pigs suffering from cysticercosis, which can be summarized as follows:

1. Pigs often present the general symptoms of chronic wasting diseases, often manifested as malnutrition, growth and development obstruction, long and rough hair, anemia, visible mucosa is pale, and mild edema.

2. The gills of the affected pig are muscular, the front bladder is wide, the chest is muscular, and the hind body is correspondingly narrower, that is, it is male lion-like, and the performance of the affected pig is obviously asymmetrical before and after observation.

3. When the pig sleeps, the appearance of its masseter muscles and scapular muscle skin often shows rhythmic tremors, and the pigs often snore after falling asleep, and the most obvious performance is late at night or early morning.

4. There are prominent white vesicles on the bottom of the tongue, the edge of the tongue and the ties of the tongue of the affected pig, and the free rice grain-sized indulner can be felt by touching the bottom of the pig's tongue and the tie part of the tongue.

5. The eyes of the pig are convex and full, and the skin of the pig's orbital fossa can be felt deep in the conjunctiva of the eye, which is similar to the size of a rice grain; the eyelid of the pig can be opened to see the conjunctiva hyperemia, and there is an uneven distribution of rice grain-like white transparent bulges.

Pre-mortem identification of swine cysticercosis should be comprehensively analyzed according to the clinical manifestations of pigs, and combined with the observation of white translucency in the muscles of pigs (such as masseter muscles, tongue muscles, diaphragm, intercostal muscles, heart muscles and neck, shoulder and abdominal muscles) after slaughter, such as fava bean-sized transparent vesicles, vesicles with small rice grain-sized white spots, you can confirm the diagnosis, you must not unilaterally observe one or a few clinical symptoms of pigs to avoid misdiagnosis.
