author:Zhonggong Health Talent Network

Neurocysticercosis is more common in young adults. According to its clinical manifestations, it can be divided into the following four types:

1. Epileptic type (cerebral parenchymal type or cortical type)

Most common. Common types of seizures are generalized tonic-clonic seizures (large seizures) and their continuums, partial motor seizures and complex partial seizures (psychomotor seizures).

2. Increased intracranial pressure type

The main manifestations are headache, vomiting, vision loss, papilledema, and may be accompanied by seizures, impaired consciousness, and even coma. Localized neurological signs such as hemiplegia, hemibia, and aphasia may be called brain tumoroid types. A small number of patients suddenly develop severe dizziness, vomiting, respiratory and circulatory dysfunction, and impaired consciousness when the head position changes, called Brun syndrome.

3. Meningoencephalitis type

It is caused by cysticermal irritation of the meninges and cerebral diffuse edema. Presents with headache, vomiting, meningeal irritation, and fever, often with mental disorders, paralysis, aphasia, seizures, ataxia, and cranial nerve palsy. The number of white blood cells in cerebrospinal fluid is significantly increased, and eosinophils are dominant.

4. Simple type

There are no neurological symptoms and no obvious Cysticercosis dermatogenes, which have been detected due to advances in diagnostic methods (e.g., CT, etc.).

Examples
