IOK Company of South Korea denies that B.I.'s father is the company's vice president

IOK Company, the agency of South Korean artists such as Kim Ho-na, Cho In-sung and Lee Sung-jae, issued a statement this afternoon denying rumors that B.I's father was the company's vice president.

B.I, who debuted as the captain of iKON, withdrew from the group in 2019 due to suspected drug purchases and left YG Entertainment, after which B.I signed a membership agreement with a subsidiary of IOK Company. Today, South Korean media broke the news that B.I was able to sign a contract with a subsidiary of IOK Company, mainly because his father was the vice president of IOK Company. IOK Company quickly denied this, saying that B.I.'s father did not have any position in the company, but had only visited the company to help B.I deal with administrative matters related to the new album.

B.I. has been formally indicted on May 28 after multiple intense investigations and drug testing by prosecutors over the past two years, and the case will officially open tomorrow morning. B.I's father was detained in 2014 on suspicion of embezzlement, when he raised 18.1 billion won of investment and embezzled 2.39 billion won with accomplices.
