A Hundred Years of Glory - The first national exhibition of portrait art of 100 outstanding communists under Ma Gang's brush was held in Beijing

On May 22, the first national exhibition of portrait art of 100 outstanding communists painted by Ma Gang was held in Beijing.

According to reports, this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the great Communist Party of China. Over the past one hundred years, from the founding of the party to the groundbreaking, the founding of the country to change the world, to the reform and opening up, the CPC has led the people to create one great achievement after another. The famous oil painter Ma Gang, full of deep affection for the party, closely followed the main line of the centenary history of the party, and created the portrait painting art of 100 outstanding communists, forming this special exhibition. The special exhibition is divided into five parts: first, leadership style; second, revolutionary pioneers; third, founding generals; fourth, scientific and technological giants; and fifth, models of the times.

Experts attending the meeting said that Ma Gang's portrait painting reflects a spirit of the times. Pen and ink are contemporary, which is a common feature of accomplished artists throughout the ages. Another feature of Ma Gang's portrait painting is the pursuit of realism and conveyance, so his characters are always so vivid. With profound artistic skills, he makes full use of a variety of painting techniques to properly handle the important details of each figure painting, and strives to deeply reflect the personal characteristics and spiritual outlook of the characters.

The exhibition is sponsored by the People's Daily Shenzhou Calligraphy and Painting Institute, the Propaganda Department of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Henan Province, the Henan Daily Newspaper Group, the Zhengzhou Daily Newspaper Group, and the Times Beihong (Beijing) Culture and Art Center, and the exhibition will continue to be exhibited until June 20.
