During his study abroad in Japan, compared with the worries of the country and the people of the eldest brother Lu Xun, Zhou Zuoren had a rather fulfilling life. He studied foreign Chinese in Japan, not only in Japanese, but also in Greek, Sanskrit and Russian, and with a deep foundation in English at home, it can be said that Zhou Zuoren is one of the top linguists in China.
But Zhou Zuoren still prefers Japanese and Japanese to other languages. While in Japan, he studied Japanese classic literature in great depth. Therefore, Zhou Zuoren's literary style pursues the realm of "love" and "taste", and the literary style is mild and diluted, which is a similar Japanese aesthetic.

The life of the eldest brother Zhou Shuren is not as pleasant as that of Zhou Zuoren. After arriving in Japan, Zhou Shuren went to sendai Medical Science, where he desperately studied to save the country if he wanted to learn medicine. Once, in the medical student anatomy exam, Zhou Shuren scored high, which made the students dare not believe that the "low-energy" Chinese could get such a high score, so they went to complain, saying that it must be the teacher Fujino Jiulang who leaked the question to Zhou Shuren.
Although this matter was not resolved in the end, it deeply stung Zhou Shuren and made him feel how unfairly the people would be bullied by the country's poverty and weakness. Looking at the russo-Japanese War documentary film events, seeing the beheaded compatriots on the screen, those sluggish and indifferent eyes, Zhou Shuren deeply understood that studying medicine can save people, but it cannot save the country, and only culture can change the spirit of the people.
Soon after this incident, Shushu left Sendai and came to Tokyo to learn to write and try to translate literary works. At this time, Zhou Shuren had begun to transform into our Lu Xun. His eyes began to look at this society, and he began to seriously consider the nature of many things.
The old three Zhou Jianren has been working as a teacher at home. He was interested in the natural sciences, and had gone to the mountains of his hometown to investigate plants and published books on them. His path as a popular science writer also began at this moment.

After returning to China in 1918, Zhou Shuren officially used Lu Xun as a pen name and began to show his fists in the literary world. Lu Xun became the main force of the vernacular movement and the standard-bearer of the new cultural movement. "A Q Zheng biography" is not only the first vernacular novel, but Also an important part of Lu Xun's critical literature.
And Zhou Zuoren's achievements in prose are also unique, compared with the strong and profound big brother Lu Xun, Zhou Zuoren's works give people a fresh and elegant feeling. At this time, the two brothers, whether it is style or thought, have formed a sharp contrast. Since then, the two weeks in the literary circle of the Republic of China have become the focus of everyone's attention.
Although Zhou Jianren is inferior to the two eldest brothers in terms of literary style, he is very accomplished in biological sciences and social sciences. Zhou Jianren's concerns about women published in the 1930s aroused widespread discussion in society.
Although he advocates new culture and new ideas in his career, in family affection, Lu Xun is a more traditional big brother. Due to the early death of his father, Lu Xun, who adhered to the idea of an elder brother as a father, has always been filial to his mother after returning to China, and is very concerned about the lives of his two younger brothers. After the family moved to Beiping in 1921, Lu Xun bought a large house for the family at his own expense, enough for himself and his two younger brothers' families.
However, the good times were not long, and Zhou Zuoren's wife, Yu Tai Nobuko, liked to enjoy and value luxury. According to Lu Xun's wife Xu Guangping, there were a bunch of servants in Zhou Zuo's house at that time, and Yu Tai Xinzi had to take a car when she went out, and she also liked to go in and out of various high-end shops to buy a lot of things, and she had to send money to her Japanese mother's house every month. Such a luxurious expense, even if Zhou Zuoren is a famous writer, can not afford it.
Lu Xun also often took out his own allowance to help Zhou Zuoren, but Yu Taixinzi's life became more and more luxurious, and finally even two Peking University professors and famous literary scholars could not afford to support her. And YuTa Nobuko's personality is not good, making the family non-verbal. Soon, the two brothers broke up completely for various reasons. However, after the third brother Zhou Jianren knew about the eldest brother and the second brother, he resolutely sided with the eldest brother until his death.
A year before the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Lu Xun died of illness, and people from all walks of life across the country spontaneously commemorated Mr. Lu Xun. After the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Zhou Zuoren stayed in Beiping as a left-behind professor at Peking University. Soon, Zhou Zuoren, under the coercion and persuasion of the Japanese, agreed to cooperate with Japan and held important positions in the Wang puppet regime.

After the liberation of the third week, jianren held many important posts, successively serving as vice minister of education and governor of Zhejiang Province, making great contributions to the organizational construction of new China. After liberation, the old erzhu Zuoren silently translated and edited books for the People's Literature Publishing House until the end of his life.
