Lu Xun's place to go was the Sendai Medical College, a small, remote town in northeastern Japan, far from Tokyo.

I think that among Lu Xun's teachers and friends at that time, there may also be many people who have such a question: Lu Xun, why should you?
Yes, is it necessary to go from a popular major at the best university to such a remote town to study medicine?
Lu Xun, however, said it was necessary.
As a result, Lu Xun changed from an engineering student to a medical student, becoming the only foreign student in sendai Medical College that year.
But the toss is just beginning.
Whether it is Lu Xun's classmates or Lu Xun himself, he may not have thought that after 2 years, Lu Xun once again embarked on the road of changing majors.
We all know the rest of the story. Students who have read "Mr. Fujino" must have remembered these four words vividly: abandoning medicine and practicing text.
In this way, Lu Xun, who was once an engineering student and is now a medical student, has become a liberal arts student...
This decision changed the lives of many people - since then, our primary and secondary school Chinese textbooks have an intimidating boss.
However, Lu Xun's experience in the past few years after abandoning medicine and practicing literature has almost become a "blank" in history.
After leaving the Sendai Medical College, Lu Xun hung up his school registration at a German school. However, he basically does not go to class.
From the time he abandoned medicine in 1906 and studied with Zhang Taiyan in 1908, there are few records about Lu Xun's life.
Almost no one knows what he's doing.
I once heard a teacher who studied Lu Xun say that they had gone to Japan to investigate and had visited the place where Lu Xun was staying.
Some researchers also half-jokingly asked the locals who understood the situation: What was Lu Xun doing all day, was he looking for a girlfriend?
But people said: This, really not...
In view of the so-called "poetry and far away" of some literary and artistic youth, it is all kinds of waves. If Lu Xun had lived a few years at that time, I could also accept it.
Therefore, when I re-read Zhou Zuoren's recollection of Lu Xun's life experience during this time, I really felt admiration.
Zhou Zuoren said that during this period, Lu Xun was mostly self-studying, and the main time was spent collecting and reading a large number of foreign progressive literary works in order to selectively translate and introduce them.
Scholars who study Lu Xun must have also read this passage. It's just that the content may be a little too brief.
But I believe that this is the most real state of life of Lu Xun in those two years. To create great literary works, it is inseparable from the immersion of life. These days were the quiet years of Lu Xun's life.
No one to supervise, no one to force. It is not to live a decadent life while shouting whose youth is not confused and whose feelings are nowhere to be placed; it is not that there is no ride, only "hobbies" when enthusiasm comes; but over the years, the time of others drinking coffee is silently used for those things that they like. Even if no one knows, even if it is suffering.
What is called feelings, this is called feelings.
You know, during this time, Lu Xun's life was very difficult, and he could only subsidize his life by proofreading the manuscript.
But he is always holding on to his dreams. To study medicine is to save the people. To learn literature is to heal the soul.
"Wishing that the cold star will not be noticed, I recommend Xuanyuan with my blood." This is the arrogance of youth, and it is also the sentiment of Lu Xun.

But what is very interesting about Lu Xun is that he seems to be both a young man who does not care about the world, but also a very calculating "worldly old man".
For interests, Lu Xun is indeed very calculating.

After tossing and turning in Japan for several years, Lu Xun's classmates finally... Without tossing out much fame, he returned to China in 1909.
The reason for returning home is very realistic, the lack of money at home:
Finally, because my mother and a few others wanted me financial help, I returned to China; I was twenty-nine years old.
Lu Xun himself can live a hard life for his dreams, but he can't let his family live as hard as he does. This is the real problem that all young people who are "desperate for their feelings" have to face.
So, Lu Xun began to look for a job.
Lu Xun, an elderly literary and artistic youth, first worked as a teacher at the Zhejiang Two-Level Normal School.
The subjects taught are chemistry and physiology...
From 1912 onwards, Lu Xun began to serve as the chief of the first section of the Department of Social Education in the Ministry of Education, and was subsequently appointed as the minister of education; thus began his career as a civil servant.
Abandoning work to study medicine, abandoning medicine to follow literature, and then, from a literary and artistic youth, to a science teacher, and then to a civil servant... I have to say, this is really a resume that blinds my eyes...
From the original desperate, step by step to the present. In any case, this may not be the profession that Lu Xun once dreamed of.
But Lu Xun can be said to be very down-to-earth, working in the civil service post for 14 years.
Since we can't specialize in literature and art, and the treatment of civil servants is still very good, let's do it. With life, let's talk about ideals.
If this may be a choice that many people will make when their feelings are frustrated; then Lu Xun's handling of other things can make people see his attitude towards interests.
A famous incident was that Lu Xun almost sued the publisher.
Lu Xun and Li Xiaofeng, the owner of Beixin Bookstore, had a mentor-apprentice friendship, and the relationship between the two was once very good, and the latter once monopolized the publication of Lu Xun's works, and Lu Xun also admired Li Xiaofeng.
But later, because the other party delayed in defaulting on Lu Xun's royalties, Lu Xun was angry and prepared to directly sue Li Xiaofeng in court, and only after Yu Dafu mediated did he "privately".
China has always had a tradition of "being tired of litigation", and everyone does not like to fight lawsuits until the last resort.
At that time, in the eyes of people, you were all cultural people, and you were teachers and apprentices, and it seemed a bit too much to make trouble like this.
But Lu Xun did not believe in this set.
Just because I have feelings doesn't mean you can infringe on my interests.
Although it is not necessary to take the same approach as Lu Xun, I still agree with Lu Xun's thinking when dealing with interests.
Because, for us ordinary people, with economic security, there is a greater opportunity to pursue spiritual feelings.
For those who only love the name of feelings, I think they should look at Lu Xun and see what is the real feelings.
And for those young people who really have feelings, what I hope more is that when they walk in society, they can learn more from that Lu Xun and learn to "calculate" their own interests.
With sufficient guarantees of interests, I believe that When Lu Xun pursues those things he loves later, he will be more relaxed than when he was in Japan.

He turned his head again to look at the broken table, on which were scattered piles of banknotes of ancient tablets.
"What's the use of you having all this?" The man opened a bill and asked the man.
"Nothing worked."

"It doesn't mean anything."

The man seemed to remember something, put down the banknote in his hand: "I think, you can do something..."
The man looked up.

Soon after, the man received an article from the man. The paper is densely packed with simple and restrained words. At the beginning of the article is written a four-word title - "Diary of a Madman".
Yes, the man in the long shirt is Qian Xuantong, the right-hand man of the New Culture Movement. The man who buried his head in his room and wrote was zhou Shuren, a famous writer who later became a civil servant of the Ministry of Education.
"Diary of a Madman" made Lu Xun's pen name appear in the sky of Chinese literature for the first time.
Lu Xun, who had been diving for more than a decade, surfaced and went straight to the center of the Chinese literature temple, and it seemed that suddenly, he became a dazzling superstar. It's as the famous song said:
I have a pearl that has been locked in the dust for a long time.
Once the dust is gone, the mountains and rivers are broken!
As soon as "Diary of a Madman" was shot, it reached an insurmountable height.
The story of Qian Xuantong inviting Lu Xun out of the mountains was later widely circulated. In this story, the dialogue between Lu Xun and Qian Xuantong seems to be the foreshadowing of Qian Xuantong's last words. But what I am really interested in is what is in these two sentences of dialogue.
I bill these, nothing useful.
It doesn't make any sense.
I just like it.
