Pang Degong and the famous land living in the area of Xiangyang are extremely friendly and intimate, and there are many in the past, often wading with Sima Hui, Pang Tong and other people to visit each other, swinging boats and gathering, and enjoying themselves.
One day, Sima Hui came to the Pond De gong's house, and it happened that Pang De Gong had crossed the water very little to sacrifice the graves of his ancestors, and he actually went straight into the inner room of the pound gong's house, called pang de gong's wife and children, asked them to quickly make a meal to entertain himself, and said: "Xu Shu once said that there were guests who wanted to come and talk to me and Pang De gong. ”
Pang Degong's wife and children welcomed Sima Hui in the hall and took out food to entertain.
Soon, Pang Degong returned home and met with Sima Hui, and the friends were as close as family, and there was no distinction between the host and the guest.
Liu Biao invited Pang Degong to enter the palace several times, and Pang Degong did not bend down to take office.
Therefore, Liu Biao personally went to hire Pang Degong.
Liu Biao said to Pang Degong: "You have saved you alone, why don't you save the world?" ”
Pang Degong replied to Liu Biao with a smile, saying: "The birds nest above the high forest, there is a place to roost at night, the turtles and shrews burrow under the abyss, there is a place to return at night, people's choices and behaviors are also people's nests, all things are only to be able to get their own habitat, so the world is not what I want to preserve." ”
Pang Degong was engaged in farming, and at this time his wife and children were cultivating.
Liu Biao pointed at them and asked Pang Degong: "Mr. Pang Lives in the field and refuses to come out to be an official, so what do you leave for your children and grandchildren?" ”
Pang Degong replied: "People in the world who pursue fame and fortune will only leave their children and grandchildren with danger, while what I leave to my children and grandchildren is to live and work in peace and contentment, but the things left behind are different." ”
Liu Biao asked again, "What do you mean by danger?" ”
Pang Degong replied: "Yao and Shun granted the land under the heavens to his courtiers without favoritism, and let his son live in the folk without a proud look." Dan zhu, Shang Jun, and I were able to save our lives and die. Yu and Tang gained the world, so they handed over the country to their relatives, so that They would retreat and move to Nanchao. The heads of the Jurchens were hung on the banner weaving of the Zhou Dynasty, while their clans were captured by the enemy. Aren't Yu and Tang dumber than Dan zhu and Shang Jun? That is the reason for its dangerous situation. When the Duke of Zhou was regent, he killed his brother. If Zhou Gong and his brother had been allowed to eat shoddy soup and live under the basil, where would there be such a harm? ”

Zhuge Liang (181–234), courtesy name Kong Ming (孔明), was a native of Yangdu, Langya, Xuzhou (present-day Yinan County, Linyi, Shandong).
Zhuge Shi was a noble clan of Langya, and his ancestor Zhuge Feng had served as a lieutenant during the reign of Emperor Yuan of the Western Han Dynasty.

However, the Eastern Han court appointed Zhu Hao as the Taishou of Yuzhang, and Zhuge Xuan had to go to Jingzhou to defect to Liu Biao.
In the second year of Jian'an (197), Zhuge Xuan died, and Zhuge Liang lived in seclusion in Longzhong (present-day Xiangyang, Hubei), and usually liked to recite "Liang Fu Yin", and often compared himself to Guan Zhong and Le Yi.

Huang Chengyan's father-in-law Cai Yi, his sister married the eunuch Zhang Wen, the eldest daughter married Huang Chengyan, the younger daughter was Liu Biao's wife, and the son Cai Mao was a general in Jingzhou.
Huang Chengyan said to Zhuge Liang: "I heard that you want to choose a wife, there is an ugly girl in my family, with yellow hair and dark skin, but her talent can match you." ”
Zhuge Liang agreed to this affair and married Huang Chengyan's daughter Huang Yueying.

Pang Degong's nephew Pang Tong (179–214), courtesy name Shiyuan (字士元), was a native of Xiangyang, Jingzhou (present-day Xiangyang, Hubei).
He was simple and taciturn from an early age, and no one saw his talent, only Pang Degong and Sima Hui valued him.
When Pang Tong was twenty years old, he heard about Sima Hui's name and walked two thousand miles to Yingchuan to visit him.
When I arrived at Yingchuan, I met Sima Hui picking mulberry leaves.
Pang Tong did not expect that the famous Sima Hui was actually an old farmer, very disdainful, and did not get out of the car, so he sat in the car and said to Sima Hui: "I heard that when the eldest husband is in the world, he should take Jin Peizi with him, showing his great prestige, where is there such a thing as you who suppresses the flow of huge water and does such a woman's thing as curing silk?" ”
Sima Hui said, "You should get out of the car for the time being." You only know that walking the path is fast, but you don't think that it is easy to get lost by taking the path. In the past, Bocheng preferred to farm rather than envy the glory of the princes, and Yuan Xian preferred to live in a simple house with mulberry wood as the door axis than in an official residence. Living in a luxurious house, going out to ride a strong horse, and having a dozen maids waiting for you, is this different? There is a reason for this. This is the reason why the hermit Xu You and Chao Father sighed, and it is also the reason why the incorruptible people Bo Yi and Shu Qi sighed. Even with Lü Buwei's title and the wealth of Qi Jinggong, it was not worthy of respect. ”
Pang Tong said: "I was born in a remote and remote place, and I rarely saw the great truth. If you don't strike the loud bell and drum, you don't know how loud it is. ”

Pang Tong pays attention to human ethics and morality, and dedicates himself to supporting the elderly and raising children.
He once commented on the quality of the characters with Lu Ji, Gu Shao and others, claiming that he had the talent to assist the emperor.
Later, he was recruited by the county as a gongcao, liked to evaluate people, and focused on cultivating the reputation of others, so those who were evaluated by him often did not have the actual talent as high as he evaluated.
The most taboo thing about human objects is this kind of exaggerated behavior, and people feel very strange about it, so they ask Pang Tong why.
Pang Tong said: "Fang is in chaos today, the way of justice is gradually declining, there are few good people and many evil people, I want to raise up such a custom to achieve the purpose of promoting the right way, so we must publicize good examples and improve the world style." If this is not done, there will be fewer and fewer good people. If five of the ten people can improve, they can complete half of this matter, and thus achieve the purpose of educating the world, so that the aspiring people can encourage themselves. ”
Sima Hui was ten years old and regarded Pang Degong as his elder brother, calling Pang Degong "Pang Gong".
Pang Degong once said that Zhuge Liang was the "Wolong", Pang Tong was the "Phoenix", and Sima Hui was the "Water Mirror".
Therefore, when Liu Bei found Sima Hui for questioning, he recommended Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong to Liu Bei.
