HTC VIVE announced a partnership with XRHealth during CES 2022 to bring healthcare into the virtual world in the form of a virtual medical room where patients can receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, and pain management treatments. Both doctors and patients can access these digital facilities in VR using the VIVE Focus 3 or VIVE Flow headset.
The partnership further demonstrates that HTC is not only a VR headset provider, but also a full-fledged meta-universe company that extends its ecosystem beyond business, entertainment and the arts, such as healthcare, through XRHealth's healthcare platform and its virtual clinic.
With VIVE Focus 3, clinicians are able to meet patients in a virtual treatment room created by XRHealth's pre-installed software. Patients who enter the treatment room via Vive Flow can discuss their condition in real time with a medical expert. During this time, clinicians can work with patients and make the necessary adjustments to the course of treatment if needed.
XRHealth's unique approach to healthcare uses immersive XR technology to connect doctors and patients through a single data analytics platform to provide a comprehensive therapeutic care solution that allows patients to receive treatment without leaving home. Currently, XRHealth's platform is used by several U.S. healthcare providers, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers.
Eran Orr, CEO of XRHealth, said: "The metacosm is gaining momentum and the provision of virtual treatment rooms will be crucial, and by providing cutting-edge treatment options for patients around the world, virtual treatment will enhance the practical capabilities of all clinicians. ”
It is understood that HTC's latest immersive headset VIVE Flow allows users to experience physical and mental health applications anytime, anywhere. Since its launch in October 2021, VIVE Flow has had dozens of themed experiences, and even won the Best Wearable Technology Award at the 2021 Esquire Gadgets Awards, designed with health and light experience in mind, making it an excellent tool for patients to use. This headset is very lightweight, portable, and easy to use, allowing patients to meet doctors anytime, anywhere, as long as they have an Android 5G smartphone. The Focus 3's high-quality visuals, impressive 120-degree ultra-wide field of view, and replaceable battery, on the other hand, make it a great device for clinicians to use.
"By advancing XR technology with VIVE Focus 3 and VIVE Flow, we are removing friction points between patients and doctors while providing more opportunities for care." Daniel O'Brien, president and head of global enterprise at HTC Americas, said.
It is reported that from February 1, 2022, patients and doctors will be able to access the XRHealth platform on Vive Focus 3 and Vive Flow.
In addition, HTC has also partnered with MyndVR, a developer of virtual reality elderly care solutions, to launch a new recall therapy application, MyndVR Originals, on VIVE Flow in early 2022 to alleviate loneliness and improve mood.
