Who was the highest general who died in Gansu during the Long March? He is our protagonist today, Wu Huanxian, who served as the commander of the Red 25Th Army, it is estimated that many people are not very familiar with Wu Huanxian, after his sacrifice that year, the great leader Chairman Mao once said a sentence: "The Expedition of the Red 25th Army has made great contributions to the Chinese revolution, and Wu Huanxian has made great contributions!" In 1985, Marshal Xu Qiangqian described him as "bold and loyal, heroic and good at war."
Wu Huanxian was born in 1907 in Caomen Village, Huang'an County, Hubei Province, in fact, the current Henan Xinyang, the family conditions are still good, the family is a local landlord family, from a very young beginning Wu Huanxian went to private school to study, and in the student era, Wu Huanxian is actually a good student liked by teachers and students, because he not only has good academic performance, but also is sincere, for such a child, any teacher and student will like it.
Wu Huanxian began to contact revolutionary ideas, or after entering the Macheng Sericulture School in 1923, he met Wang You'an, a member of our party, and under his influence, Wu Huanxian began to study Marxism-Leninism, and thus completely believed in Marxism-Leninism.
In the following student years, Wu Huanxian often participated with his classmates in demonstrations against imperialist aggression and the reactionary rule of the Beiyang warlords, street propaganda and the posting of revolutionary slogans.
When Wu Huan graduated a few years later, he once said to his father: "I do great things, never be a corrupt official, and fall into a notorious reputation." After that, he began to engage in revolutionary activities on a regular basis.
In 1925, at the age of 18, Wu Huanxian joined the Communist Party of China, and then he returned to his hometown to establish a peasant armed force, but unfortunate news occurred, because Wu Huanxian's revolutionary actions led to the murder of his family of six by the Kuomintang local militia, and this great vendetta was undoubtedly not shared, which naturally strengthened Wu Huanxian's revolutionary belief.
In the next few years, Wu Huanxian did many important things, such as leading the peasants to arrest and punish Wu Save, the largest reactionary gentry in Huang'an Beixiang, and leading the local peasant masses to set off the "September Riots".
In 1928, Wu Huanxian and others jointly led the creation of the first revolutionary base area in the Eyu-Anhui Border Region, that is, Chaishanbao, and later served as a member of the Eyu-Anhui Special Committee and secretary of the Huang'an County CPC Committee, the director of the Political Department of the 12th Division of the Red Fourth Army, and the director of the Political Department of the 12th Division of the 4th Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army.
After the Red Fourth Front left Eyuwan, the Eyuwan Provincial Party Committee re-created the Red 25th Army, at this time Wu Huanxian was appointed as the commander of the army, and in the days that followed, Wu Huanxian led his troops to fight many beautiful battles, winning the battles of Guojiahe, Panjiahe, and Yangsizhai respectively.
So why did Wu Huanxian sacrifice himself on the way to Gansu? In fact, it was because in order to prepare the main force of the Red Army to go north to meet the Party Central Committee, he decided to lead his troops into Gansu territory to threaten the enemy's rear.
Unfortunately, on August 21, 1935, Wu Huanxian and the Red 25th Army were suddenly attacked by the Kuomintang army in Gansu, and the result was that during the battle, Commander Wu Huanxian was unfortunately hit by enemy bullets and eventually died at the age of 28.
