Speaking of the jute uprising that broke out in November 1927, I think everyone is familiar with it, when more than 30,000 peasant self-defense troops and volunteer soldiers in Huang'an and Macheng attacked Huang'an County, firing the first shots of armed resistance against the Kuomintang right faction in the Eyu-Anhui region. In this battle, our army sacrificed a large number of brave and fearless soldiers, and at the same time walked out many republican generals and founding heroes. Dai Jiying, who we want to talk about today, is one of them.
Dai Jiying, born in 1906, is a native of Huang'an (now Hong'an) County, Hubei Province. In his early years, he was ideologically progressive and actively participated in the patriotic student movement. After the defeat of the Great Revolution, Dai Jiying, together with Zheng Weisan, Dai Kemin, Wu Huanxian, and others, formed the Huang'an County CPC Committee in Qiliping to lead the masses in the struggle. On November 13, 1927, the Jute Uprising broke out, and Dai Jiying served as a member of the General Headquarters and the commander-in-chief of the Qili District Peasant Volunteer Brigade, and was an important figure in the uprising. Later, Dai Jiying also served as the secretary of the Huang'an County CPC Committee and the political commissar of the Red Army Division, and participated in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" in the Eyu-Anhui Soviet Region.
In November 1934, the Red 25th Army left the Eyu-Anhui Soviet Region and began a long march north alone, and Dai Jiying successively served as the director of the political department and chief of staff of the Red 25th Army. As we all know, the Red 25th Army took the lead in reaching the northern Shaanxi region, which not only effectively coordinated the actions of the Central Red Army, but also expanded and consolidated the base area in northern Shaanxi. After that, Dai Jiying participated in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, during which he fought everywhere and made great contributions. But at the same time, he also had some stains, such as the large-scale purges and rebellions in Eyu-Anhui and northern Shaanxi, and the creation of many unjust, false and wrongly decided cases.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Dai Jiying was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Henan Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Kaifeng Municipal Party Committee, with an official position at the level of vice province. Some people may not know that Kaifeng was the capital city at that time, and this position was not low. However, Dai Jiying flaunted himself and was not satisfied. It turned out that during the Liberation War, Dai Jiying had participated in the breakthrough of the Central Plains and served as the deputy political commissar of the Central Plains Military Region and the political commissar of the First Column. And as early as 1944, he was already the party secretary of Henan District. Therefore, Dai Jiying believes that the liberation of Henan, he has made great contributions and should serve as a leader, he looks down on comrades with shallow qualifications, and he is bent on doing things. In the end, Dai Jiying even took the initiative to write to the organization and ask for a promotion.
At that time, Dai Jiying's behavior of "reaching out to officials" had a very bad impact and was punished most severely, not only was his post demoted to the end, but he was also expelled from the party. Since then, Dai Jiying has stayed away from the temple and lived a reclusive life in the compound of the provincial party committee. It was not until 1984 that things took a turn for the better, and Dai Jiying reinstated party membership and provincial cadres. In November 1997, Dai Jiying died of illness in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, at the age of 92.
