Minister of Culture and Tourism Hu Heping delivered a video speech announcing the launch of the 2022 "Happy Spring Festival" global event. Zhang Xu, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism, attended the launching ceremony.
Hu Heping said in his speech that the Spring Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals of the Chinese nation, which means reunion and happiness, condenses the essence of China's excellent traditional culture, carries the collective memory of the Chinese nation and the feelings of home and country, and contains the common values of mankind such as "people-oriented" and "peace is precious". In recent years, with the successful holding of the overseas "Happy Spring Festival" of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Chinese Spring Festival has been well known and loved by more and more countries and people, and has gradually become a world festival. The 2022 Chinese New Year Festival coincides with the Beijing Winter Olympics, and the "Happy Spring Festival" activity integrates the elements of the Winter Olympics on the basis of adhering to the concept of "joy, harmony, sharing and dialogue", and focuses on the two themes of "Spring Festival" and "Ice and Snow", showing the world the beauty of Chinese Spring Festival culture, art and life, and sharing New Year blessings and feasting with the people of the world. At the launching ceremony, the famous conductor Tan Lihua, together with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, together with pipa player Zhao Cong, erhu player Song Fei, young singer Zhou Xiaolin and other artists performed classic music works with a strong festive atmosphere, as well as Olympic Winter Olympic theme songs such as "Ode to Samaras" and "Together to the Future", sending New Year greetings to the global audience.
