"When sleeping, the phone can't be placed on the side of the pillow, there is radiation!"
"I heard that when lao wang next door slept, he often put his mobile phone under the pillow, and as a result, he grew a tumor in his brain!"
"Calling a mobile phone not only causes cancer, but also can lead to Alzheimer's disease!"
Hearing these words, the grumpy little doctor looked at the mobile phone placed next to the bed and fell into deep thought.
We let scientific research do the talking.
In 2011
The findings of the Centre for Environmental Epidemiology Research in Barcelona, Spain[1]:
"Routine" use of mobile phones does not increase the risk of brain tumors. But in the 20 percent of people who use the most mobile phones, the risk of glioma increases by 1.91 times and the risk of meningioma by 2.01 times.
(Know what you want to ask, but this paper doesn't define how long a day the phone counts as "regular" and how long it counts as "unconventional", only giving a concept of cumulative energy)
In 2015
Swedish cancer expert ReinerHarder found that[2]:
People who spend the most time on their phones are 2 times more likely to develop gliomas than those who spend the shortest time on their phones. (The shortest here is 1 year, the longest is more than 15–20 years)
In addition, people who have used mobile phones continuously for more than 25 years have a 3 times higher risk of developing gliomas than those who have used mobile phones for less than 1 year.
People who start using their phones before the age of 20 also have an increased risk of developing brain tumors.
Seeing this, you must be thinking: It seems that playing mobile phones will cause brain cancer!!!
Calm down! Summarizing these existing studies, it is only a hint that routine use of mobile phones is not a risk factor for brain tumors, but long-term use of mobile phones (such as > 20 years) may (just possibly) increase the risk of brain tumors.
You must be thinking: doesn't this mean that playing with mobile phones will cause brain cancer!!
Or advise you to calm down!!
The current level of evidence in the study is limited and cannot determine a causal relationship between cell phone radiation and cancer.
Therefore, it can only be said that mobile phone radiation is a "suspicious carcinogenic factor", and everyone does not have to be too nervous.
This conclusion is not what we are talking about, as the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IACR), a subsidiary of the World Health Organization, defines "radio frequency electromagnetic waves", including mobile phone radiation, as class 2B carcinogens [3].
Class 2B carcinogens are "potentially carcinogenic to people, but the evidence is limited." At the same level, there are also common pickles, gasoline, asphalt, ginkgo biloba leaf extract, etc. [3].
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also believes that cellphone radiation and health problems, including cancer, are not related [4].
Although it does not cause cancer, will it hurt the brain or even dementia to make frequent phone calls?
First of all, there is no evidence that mobile phone radiation causes dementia.
Mice with Alzheimer's disease (a type of dementia) have been found to be exposed to high-frequency electromagnetic fields (equivalent to cell phone radiation) for a long period of time (7 months) and instead help reduce the deposition of a "bad protein" in the brain, which may have potential anti-dementia effects [5-7].
But this is an animal experiment, far from being used in humans. Current clinical studies also do not have the claim that cell phone radiation causes dementia [8-9].
Because of Japan's nuclear radiation, many people talk about "spoke" discoloration, which is actually a misunderstanding.
Simply put, radiation is a kind of energy transfer, which is mainly divided into non-ionizing radiation and ionizing radiation.
Mobile phones and computers belong to non-ionizing radiation, which includes radio waves, microwaves, visible light, and some ultraviolet rays. The effect of non-ionizing radiation on the human body is only to convert energy into temperature increases, making people warm, and the impact on human health is basically negligible [10].
Nuclear radiation is ionizing radiation, that is, the type of radiation that is harmful to the human body, which can damage human tissue or DNA, resulting in cell damage or death.
X-rays and CT also emit ionizing radiation, but once a year, or occasionally sick film, the amount of radiation received is minimal, do not worry. But don't suspect that you are sick, every day pestering the doctor to give you a picture check!
To put it simply, the radiation emitted by the mobile phone is not harmful ionizing radiation, so rest assured, right?
Since radiation does not have a very clear carcinogenic risk and does not make people stupid, is it possible to play mobile phones at will?
Of course not!
Even if your phone can spare your brain, it can't spare your other body parts.
1. Hurt your fingers. If you play with your phone with one hand for a long time, your little thumb may turn out like this.
(Source: Self-made)
Often use the little finger against the lower part of the phone, over time, it may cause joint deformation and bone damage.
2. Your cervical spine can't stand it. For every 1 degree increase in the angle of the head, the pressure on the neck muscles and joints gradually increases a little. In the long run, a "turtle neck" will be formed.
(Source: Made your own)
What is even more frightening is the "nest neck" position below, lying on the sofa, no throw pillow, the neck hanging in the air, and the head and upper body are almost 90 degrees. This can easily lead to neck joint instability, which in turn can lead to dizziness, headaches and so on.
3. Playing with your phone for a long time can also make you ugly. For example —
Good little brother, double chin and luo pot are out.
If you don't change it, it will change like this
Even our Ping Pong Prince Kezai is not immune.
(Source: Network)
4. Walking and looking at the phone is easy to bump into others.
5. Turn off the lights at night to play mobile phone, light will inhibit melatonin secretion, resulting in insomnia. The next day I feel very tired, as if I hadn't slept, and my memory and mood are not too good [11, 12].
A paper published in August 2021 by Chinese scientist Shi Yigong also found that mice experienced a decrease in sleep quality when exposed to radiation at 4G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi levels.
Although we always say that animal experiments cannot be directly derived from humans, people are easily disturbed by environmental factors (such as coffee, alcohol, smoking, drugs, etc.), so this mouse experiment may be more telling.
6. Keep brushing your phone when squatting in the pit, paying for half an hour, you may soon be tormented by hemorrhoids.
All in all, play with your phone in moderation.
Pay attention to the active activity neck.
Or use a relaxed pose.

The mobile phone is just a tool, we can't be its slaves, even if the person across the phone is important, can't kidnap us 24 hours a day!
So now you know, how far away your phone is from you when you sleep, right?
Of course, it is the distance of one arm
It's not because the radiation is small, but you can't reach it, and you won't delay sleeping because you play with your mobile phone.
