Why does the United States always equate Ukraine with Taiwan? It's all about the sphere of influence

Although the United States pays lip service to recognizing one China, it actually regards Taiwan as its sphere of influence. When the mainland reunified Taiwan, it actually expelled the United States from the west coast of the Pacific.

Why does the United States always equate Ukraine with Taiwan? It's all about the sphere of influence

As the War in Ukraine progressed, senior officials of the US Department of Defense and the State Department repeatedly compared the war with the Taiwan issue, and even encouraged the Taiwan authorities to take Ukraine as an "example" and develop "asymmetric combat power" against the mainland. Ukraine is a sovereign independent state, and Taiwan is part of China, something that the Americans themselves cannot openly deny. So why does the United States always equate Taiwan with Ukraine?

After the end of the Second World War, all countries realized that the use of force to seize the territory of other countries would inevitably lead to fierce resistance and a long war. That is why it is clearly stated in the Charter of the United Nations that force cannot be used to change the borders of a country. This provision was mainly aimed at European countries at that time. Both world wars were fought by European countries for territory. We are not saying that there are no territorial disputes between third world countries, but at the end of World War II, many countries in the world were seeking national independence, national self-determination and national independence, and territorial contradictions were not so prominent.

Since the borders of the country have been basically demarcated, how can the expansion of the Western world be realized? This involves the concept of so-called spheres of influence. In fact, spheres of influence are not a new concept. China, after the Opium War, until the victory of the Liberation War, has been used by the Great Powers of the East and the West as a gladiatorial [jué dòu] field for spheres of influence, and the famous political cartoon "The Picture of the Situation" published in the Hong Kong newspaper in 1898 is a true portrayal of that period of history.

After World War II, the sphere of influence flourished, and third world countries had to take sides if they wanted to survive. In order to compete for spheres of influence, the two major military blocs of NATO and the Warsaw Pact have planned and instigated countless proxy wars and created countless military confrontations and bloody conflicts. To this day, even if the Warsaw Pact is dissolved, NATO is still unwilling to stop, to continue to expand eastward, to include Ukraine in its sphere of influence, and finally provoked Putin's thunderous anger.

Here in Taiwan, the problem becomes even more intractable. In Taiwan today, both the Kuomintang government and the Democratic Progressive Party government are doing their utmost to defect to the United States and find ways to oppose the Chinese mainland. Although the United States pays lip service to one China, it has in fact always regarded Taiwan as its sphere of influence. Now, from the United Nations to the vast majority of countries in the world, there is an unequivocal recognition of Taiwan as China's legitimate territory. Then, the mainland's reunification of Taiwan is actually equivalent to expelling the United States from the west coast of the Pacific. This, of course, will cause deep apprehension and fierce opposition among Americans.

The sphere of influence is not rational, but is only a reflection of the strength of the country. There is indeed a problem of mutual influence between countries, and the advanced and developed countries will certainly have an impact on other countries, while the weak and backward countries can only passively accept intervention from the powerful countries. Normally, this influence should be carried out through peaceful, friendly and mutual respect, and must not affect the independence, territorial integrity and national security of other countries. The problem is that many Western countries, led by the United States, are aggressive and unmoving, regard their sphere of influence as their own natural interests, and never allow others to touch their cheese, otherwise they will threaten with force or even directly fight.

What has happened around the Taiwan issue is not unrelated to this old and decadent idea of spheres of influence. Not only that, but even the Belt and Road Initiative launched by China has been maliciously interpreted by the United States. The reason for this is also the United States' belief that the Belt and Road Initiative violates the United States' sphere of influence. After a considerable number of third world countries, especially South Asian countries, African countries, and South American countries have accepted the Belt and Road Initiative, the United States believes that its influence has been weakened and its sphere of influence is in danger of shrinking.

Therefore, from the standpoint of the West, they take it for granted that the Ukrainian issue and the Taiwan issue are similar and comparable. Therefore, when we resolve the Taiwan issue, we must first resolutely smash the US concept of sphere of influence. Taiwan is the sphere of influence that the United States itself has identified, and it is neither a legitimate territory of the United States nor its colony, so why should he obstruct China's reunification actions? Except within the U.S. borders, the U.S. government and the U.S. military have no reason to decide the fate of others. The hand of the United States actually reached from the east coast of the Pacific Ocean to the west bank, so we will chop it off with a fast knife!
