Shaw Revival Works: Life Needs Balance

I don't know if you believe it or not, no matter what kind of life, it needs balance in a short or long life, and it will eventually be balanced. This is like what is said in "Dream of the Red Chamber": there are big difficulties, and small has small benefits. This is also like what is said in Aesop's Fables: tall giraffes can eat the leaves on the heads of tall branches, but they can't enter the small doors of the yard; the short goats can't eat the leaves on the heads of the tall branches, but they easily walk into the small doors.

Understanding this meaning of life is not only to make us not proud of our own strengths, not to be pessimistic about our own shortcomings; not only to let us know that there are more, there will always be times to lose, more to lose, there will always be a chance to be compensated; more importantly, let us fully appreciate that life is actually a flowing river, rocks through the air, waves crashing on the shore, rolling up a thousand piles of snow, is a scene in life; the tide level is wide on both sides, the wind is hanging in the sails, and it is also a scene of life In the process of flowing, a river cannot always be a former landscape, nor can it always be a landscape after it, and it will flow forward in the balance of the overall flow, all the way into the great rivers and seas. Therefore, we do not have to worry about one or the other, we do not have to deliberately pursue a certain point, so that in such a balance of life, let our mentality be more relaxed, let our life be more peaceful, and make our life more of a stretched picture.

This year I went to Turkey and met Mr. Sabanter, who is known as the richest man in Turkey today. Saying that Mr. Sabantse is the richest man in Turkey is not false, it is not an exaggeration, all the Toyota cars running on the street are produced by his family, and wherever there is a SA sign with white characters on a blue background, it is his family's property, and everything that has a SA logo with a blue background and a white word SA letter is his family's product. In Turkey, the symbol of SA is everywhere; Sabanter's name is a household name.

Such a rich man, but also has a bad fate, his two children, a son, a daughter, are disabled and mentally handicapped. Fate is playing cruel jokes with him like this. But he thought that this was actually a kind of balance that life gave him, and he did not complain about others. His ideas are very similar to the ideas of our ancients: people have sorrows and joys, and the moon has clouds and sunshine, which is difficult to complete in ancient times. Thinking of the meaning of such a little balance in life, his heart is naturally balanced. Fate, on the one hand, gave him wealth that no one else could match, and on the other hand gave him such a shocking punishment. He wants to open, punishment can also be turned into a reward, and the bridge of communication between the two needs the balance of life. He gave his rich money, not just for his two children, but to build a park for the disabled in Istanbul, all the equipment in the park is specially designed for the disabled, even the rocking chairs on the playground have automatic devices for the disabled to sit automatically without leaving the wheelchair. He hopes to balance the unsatisfactory lives of more disabled people with what he can do, so that his unsatisfactory life can reach a new balance.

Mr. Sabanter has been more than 70 years old, so rich, but in fact, his life is very picky. Legend has it that throughout his life he smoked only one cigar a day, half a day in the morning and half in the afternoon; still drank only a small glass of whiskey a day, and sat down to drink after a day's work in which the sun went down. But when it came time to spend the money, he spent thousands of dollars, such as this disabled park in Istanbul. He found his balance between rich and poor, sound and disabled, gain and loss.

That day, we went to visit the Sabanter Museum, which bears his name. The museum is built on the shore of the Bosphorus, you can go in to see a variety of famous paintings and the Quran, out you can see the blue water, seagulls dancing and the bosphorus bridge is magnificent, it is very beautiful. It turned out to be his private home, which he donated and converted into this museum. In this museum, the most interesting thing is a showroom, all of which are cartoons of Mr. Sabanthrig. It was Mr. Sabanter who invited the Turkish cartoonists to draw how ugly they were, the ugliest the better, and drew such a room full of cartoons. Sometimes he came here to look at a room full of ugly cartoons that surrounded him and drew him, and he was happy that here he found a balance that was not there surrounded by people or flowers or shots outside, flattering what was not there, and here he found joy that was not in the pain given to him by two disabled and mentally handicapped children. Mr. Sabanter really had insight into the vicissitudes of the world and fully realized the three ambiguities of life. He was a wise old man who knew the true meaning of the art of balance.

Can we have such a free and dashing mentality as he did? Can we have the power of his self-balancing that is not shocking? If we have the same, our life will be as full and happy as Mr. Sabanter, and we will not be overwhelmed by a momentary pride, despaired by a momentary frustration, and we will experience ourselves in the ups and downs of the world like Mr. Sabanter, and experience the meaning of life in the balance of life.

A person's life can never be either an either heaven or a hell, but there is always a manifestation of the power of balance between the two. In this way, our lives are in a state of balance of energy, and we are not complacent or panicked about the extremes presented in life. For example: sometimes we will be in a state of sleep, sometimes we will be in a state of excitement; sometimes we will be like a peacock opening the screen on all sides, sometimes we will be like a mouse drilling the wooden box at both ends of the blockage; sometimes we need to smear gentian purple, sometimes we need to apply discoloration lipstick; sometimes we need kaiser, sometimes we need moisturizer... Life is balanced in such a combination of yin and yang, complementarity between inside and outside, both gains and losses, and complementarity. If you look for such a balance, you will find the art of life, find life and the meaning of life. The power of life balance is actually the concentration of our ordinary life, and it is the needle of the sea god of our trivial life.
