Recently, we learned from relevant channels that the BMW 540i Style Edition M Sport Package model will no longer be supplied to the Chinese market from the production month in February. Since it will take some time for models produced overseas to be shipped to Japan, it does not mean that consumers will not be able to buy them from February, but the supply of vehicles will be more intense.

The 540i Style Edition M Sport Package is an imported model from BMW Group's Dingerfen plant in Germany, with a domestic price of 609,900 yuan. The 3.0T inline six-cylinder engine has a maximum output of 250kW (340 hp) and a peak torque of 450Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic manual transmission. The official acceleration time per 100 kilometers is 5.1 seconds.

Since the current seventh-generation BMW 5 Series was launched in China in 2017, BMW has provided both imported standard wheelbase version 540i and domestic long-wheelbase version 540i versions, both equipped with 3.0T inline six-cylinder engines. In September 2019, production of the 540i long-wheelbase version was discontinued, and it was announced that the 3.0T inline-six engine will no longer be available in domestic BMW models. Until 2022, the domestic BMW X5 is on the market, and the 3.0T inline six-cylinder engine will not return.

Editor's Summary: As the only 3.0T six-cylinder 5 Series, the 540i has always had a very high status in the hearts of BMW fans, and the announcement at this time that it will no longer be supplied to the Chinese market may not be a problem of sales. It has been reported that the seventh-generation 5 series, which is currently on sale, may be officially discontinued overseas in June and prepare for the new eighth-generation 5 series. As for whether the latest generation of BMW will still have a 3.0T six-cylinder model into the country, there is no news. (Source: BMWCar)
