IT House News on October 9, according to wabetainfo, WhatsApp launched a "chat lock" function in May this year, users can lock certain chats in a secure folder that only they can access. Now, WhatsApp is working on a new "password" feature that will add another layer of security to user-locked chats. This feature is currently in beta testing and is not yet available to beta testers.

As shown in the figure, users can create custom passwords for locked chats through this function, enter the password to find the locked chat history in the app's search bar, and support the use of words or emojis as passwords.

IT House noted that WhatsApp already offers fingerprint, face unlock and PIN three lock functions, while chat locks can hide personal chats and keep them safe, and custom passwords not only add another layer of security, but also help users search quickly.
