According to the website of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Work Safety Committee of the State Council issued a notice of supervision on the investigation and handling of major production safety accidents. On April 13, 2024, a major sightseeing boat overturned in the waters of the Qinglong River in Taolinkou Village, Liujiaying Township, Lulong County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, killing 12 people. According to the "Measures for the Supervision and Handling of Major Accidents", the State Council Safety Committee decided to carry out the supervision of the investigation and handling of the major accident. Hebei Province should, in accordance with the "Regulations on the Reporting, Investigation and Handling of Production Safety Accidents" and other relevant laws, regulations and rules, pay close attention to organizing and carrying out accident investigations, quickly find out the causes of accidents, and study and put forward handling opinions in strict accordance with the requirements of accident investigation regulations. Before the accident case is closed, the accident investigation report (not finalized) should be submitted to the Office of the State Council Safety Committee for review and approval, and Hebei Province shall be responsible for approving and closing the case and releasing it to the public. After the case is concluded, the accident investigation report and the implementation of the accident handling decision shall be promptly reported to the Office of the State Council Safety Committee for the record.
