At 8 p.m. on May 20th and 21st, the classic masterpiece "Seven Sisters and the Snake Lang", a treasure of Guizhou folk art that has been passed down for more than 300 years and a national intangible cultural heritage, will be staged at the Beijing Road Grand Theater in Guizhou Province for two consecutive nights. At that time, Shao Zhiqing, the winner of the Plum Blossom Award for Chinese Theatre, will join hands with the cutting-edge lantern opera actors to perform romantic legends, bringing old audiences to relive the classics while allowing young audiences to feel an unswerving love.

The lamp is from the Tang Dynasty, and the drama is from the Song Dynasty. As a local traditional opera, Guizhou lantern opera is widely spread in all parts of Guizhou, with a history of more than 300 years, which is not only a national intangible cultural heritage, but also a treasure in Guizhou's folk art. From ancient times to the present, from the countryside to the city, lantern singing and dancing, lantern rapping, and lantern opera have formed a deep relationship with the people of Guizhou.
The lantern opera "Seven Sisters and the Snake Lang" is one of the representative repertoire of traditional Guizhou lantern opera, and it is also one of the representative works of Luo Jiangyu, the founder of Luo Pai Danjiao Art. In the seventies and eighties of the last century, it was often performed and hard to find, and it became a precious memory of the era.
With the joint efforts of the past generations of Guizhou lantern people, "Seven Sisters and Snake Lang" has been revised and polished several times. The special performance of "520 Guizhou Lantern Opera "Seven Sisters and Snake Lang" invited the original cast of the play as the artistic director, and Shao Zhiqing, the winner of the Plum Blossom Award for Chinese Theatre, joined in and performed brilliantly with the cutting-edge lantern actors.

The play is based on a folk tale and tells the story of a long time ago, in Zhangjiazhuang, deep in the beautiful and rich Python Mountain in Guizhou, the little seventh sister of the Zhang family met and fell in love with the snake catcher young snake Lang of Python Mountain, and was envied and framed and separated by the eldest sister of the Zhang family, and finally reunited with the snake Lang and finally became a family.

In terms of story, it focuses on the description of the benevolent and righteous snake lang, the kind and friendly seventh sister, the jealous and greedy eldest sister, the evil and cunning snake spirit, and the smart and humorous bee man.

In terms of form, it brings the singing and dancing of the lantern to the extreme. In scenes such as "Python Mountain Love", "Bee Weng Matchmaker", "Marriage", "Seven Sisters Illusion" and other scenes, the dance is either affectionate, humorous, or lively, showing the diversity of lantern songs and dances from different aspects. In particular, the lantern music and singing in the play come from the essence of the east, west, north and south four road lanterns, under the adaptation of the lantern people, melodious and beautiful, many singing segments have become classics, widely spread in the fields.
