Li Jun pointed out that on May 29, 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced the "National Catalogue of Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources" approved by the State Council, which clarified 33 types of domestic livestock and poultry for the first time. Among them, there are 17 kinds of traditional livestock and poultry and 16 kinds of special livestock and poultry. He stressed that the state will include sika deer in the first place on the list of special livestock and poultry breeding, and allow domestication, cultivation of breeds, introduced breeds and supporting lines.
This policy has injected permanent impetus into the promotion of the new industry of sika deer breeding throughout the country.
