On the morning of June 25, the Yunnan Higher People's Court publicly announced to the public the new achievements made by Yunnan courts in carrying out the in-depth anti-drug struggle, and announced a number of typical cases of drug crimes, aiming to show that the courts of the province have consistently adhered to the strict punishment of drug crimes in accordance with the law, carried out in-depth publicity and education on the prevention of drug crimes, actively participated in the comprehensive management of drug control, promoted the in-depth development of drug control work, and made every effort to build a solid anti-drug safety barrier in the southwest of the motherland.
From July 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024, the provincial courts concluded a total of 1,571 drug crime cases, with 2,485 defendants effectively sentenced, and a heavy sentence rate of 53.08%; Second, we should focus on cracking down on drug-related crimes at the source. According to statistics, from July 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024, the courts of the central city and the eight cities along the border accepted a total of 1,195 drug cases, concluded 1,079 cases, and sentenced 1,260 defendants, accounting for 69.16% of the number of drug cases accepted by the courts in the province, 68.68% of the cases concluded, and 50.70% of the defendants with effective judgments, which dealt a heavy blow to the arrogance of drug criminals at home and abroad. ”
From July 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024, courts in the province accepted a total of 231 cases of coercion, inducement, instigation, deception, and accommodating others to take drugs, concluded 223 cases, and effectively sentenced 235 defendants; From July 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024, courts in the province accepted 14 cases of illegal cultivation of drug plants, concluded 14 trials, and effectively sentenced 19 defendants. At the same time, Yunnan courts will increase the punishment of crimes involving addictive substances such as narcotic drugs.

Lawbreakers collude with employees of medical and drug rehabilitation institutions to commit crimes, as well as use narcotic drugs to commit crimes that seriously endanger public order and affect the people's sense of security, such as rape, indecency, robbery, and drug driving, and are to be resolutely and severely punished in accordance with the law. ”
