Although the acceleration of the Lingyu is not fast, it is indeed very stable to drive.
The shift logic of the 6-speed DCT gearbox is more inclined to upshift, and the engine speed is controlled at around 2000 rpm during daily cruising to achieve good fuel economy. At the same time, the smoothness of the whole acceleration process is good. In normal mode, if you press the throttle deeply, even if the engine speed rises, the gearbox will react slowly, and it will take about 1 second for power to flow out. If you switch to sport mode, the acceleration of the whole vehicle will become more aggressive, and the speed can reach about 4000 rpm, and you can feel the acceleration thrust brought by this engine.
0-100km/h acceleration test
The driving mode of the vehicle is set to SPORT, and the brake and accelerator are pressed at the same time to maintain the engine speed for acceleration test. It is worth noting that the gearbox does not allow the engine to be held for too long. When the maximum speed reaches 2000 rpm, release the brakes. The tires did not slip at the moment of start, and the body posture was stable. However, the acceleration process was relatively flat, and the acceleration time of 10.16 seconds in the test was quite modest.
Ford is all about sport, and Ford is all about comfort
Lingyu is a non-Ford SUV, so compared with the Edge and Explorer, it may not have such a strong sense of sportiness. In addition to the performance of power, the chassis is also as soft and hard as possible, so that riders who like to handle will not have a greasy feeling. In daily driving, the whole vehicle smooths out the vibration from the road surface as much as possible, and the vibration of the road surface cannot be transmitted to the car, so the vehicle creates a more obvious sense of driving. For passengers, this comfort performance is definitely a perfect score.
Assuming that a person who likes to control the car sits in the driver's seat, in addition to the lack of passion in the power output, the soft suspension will feel that the front of the car has begun to move when changing lanes and turning quickly at high speeds, but the body is still a beat slower to keep up with the rhythm. In addition, the steering wheel assistance of Lingyu is very light, and no matter what kind of driving mode, its assistance does not increase substantially. At the same time, the steering wheel is also more obvious, which also has a great impact on the fierce handling.
We took Ling Yu for a pile winding test, although the suspension was soft so that it performed average in this test, and the top speed reached 52km/h, but the vehicle's ESP intervention was relatively timely, and it would immediately intervene when it sensed that the vehicle was about to lose control, plus the grip of the four MC6s was good, so the body posture was not particularly bad.
Is it difficult to drive such a big SUV? Not really. First of all, the front seat of the leader has a very good driving view, because of the high sitting position, you can easily see the entire front hood of the car. Secondly, the steering wheel is relatively light, and the power output is relatively smooth. For female drivers, this kind of adjustment is very maneuverable, and it becomes easy to turn around on the spot and reverse into the garage.
The braking performance of 100-0km/h is comparable to that of a sedan
When braking with all his might, the relatively soft suspension setting makes Lingyu appear a more obvious "nod" phenomenon, but throughout the braking test process, the braking force output is relatively uniform, and the four MC6 tires have strong grip, which provides strong support for Lingyu's excellent braking performance, and the final measured score of 36.52 meters is even better than most compact cars.
