On June 26, the 2024 China-Turkey Ruling Party Governance Exchange Mechanism Strategic Dialogue was held in Beijing, with the theme of "Strengthening the Building of the Ruling Party and Walking Together on the Road to Modernization". Liu Jianchao, Director of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Ella, First Vice Chairman of the Justice and Development Party of Turkey, attended and delivered keynote speeches.
Liu Jianchao said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Erdogan, the strategic cooperative relationship between China and Turkey has maintained a good momentum of development and has shown broad prospects. Political party exchanges are an important part of state-to-state relations, and our two parties jointly established the China-Turkey ruling party's governance exchange mechanism, which aims to promote the implementation of the important consensus of the two heads of state through inter-party channels, and jointly lead and promote the healthy and stable development of China-Turkey strategic cooperative relations. Realizing modernization is the common pursuit of all mankind. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the Chinese people are comprehensively promoting the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation with Chinese-style modernization, and the Turkish people have also embarked on a new journey to realize the vision of the "Turkish Century".
Liu Jianchao said that at present, the changes of the world, the times and history are unfolding in an unprecedented way, the international balance of power has undergone profound adjustments, and the two countries are both emerging market countries, so they need to strengthen strategic cooperation more than ever. China and Turkey should uphold strategic autonomy, enhance political mutual trust, and earnestly respect each other's core concerns. uphold openness and inclusiveness, deepen institutional cooperation among the ruling parties, strengthen the exchange of experience in governance, and jointly improve the ability to govern; Uphold mutual benefit and win-win results, fully tap the potential of "political party +" cooperation, and accelerate the docking of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the Turkish "Middle Corridor" plan; Uphold the right path of mankind, strengthen solidarity and cooperation from a global and historical perspective, and vigorously promote the common values of all mankind. China welcomes the AKP's support and participation in the three global initiatives put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping to jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Ella said that strengthening exchanges between Turkey and China in various fields is not only in the common interests of both sides, but also conducive to regional and global peace. The AKP looks forward to deepening inter-party exchanges and cooperation with the Communist Party of China (CPC) and helping Turkey-China relations achieve greater development. Turkey is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with China, make good use of various cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, deepen cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, energy and tourism, strengthen the synergy between Turkey's "Middle Corridor" plan and the "Belt and Road" initiative, enhance connectivity, and welcome Chinese enterprises to invest in Turkey to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
During the dialogue, Liu Jianchao and Ella signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two parties.
Chen Zhou, Deputy Director of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the dialogue, which was attended by about 50 Chinese and foreign representatives, including relevant responsible comrades from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other ministries and commissions, as well as the Vice Chairman of the AKP for Foreign Affairs Serakaya and the Vice Chairman of Local Administration Yelmaz.
