The library mentioned here is located in the Chang'an Academy area of Xi'an Municipal Library, which is located on the bank of the Bahe River.
At present, Chang'an Academy is undergoing intense outdoor landscape and interior decoration construction, and is scheduled to open to the public at the end of this year. At that time, it will form a "three-legged" trend with Chang'an Cloud and Chang'an Le, which are across the river, to jointly create a cultural highland on both sides of the Bahe River.

Chang'an Academy has a total construction area of 157,000 square meters, of which the total area of the library is 75,900 square meters, with a total designed collection of 3 million books, 2,000 reading seats, and a maximum capacity of 7,000 people at the same time.
Positioned as a large-scale public library facing the new era, the completed Chang'an Academy will serve as the main library of Xi'an Library, and form a pattern of "one library, two houses" with the old library that will be renovated and expanded into Xi'an Youth Activity Center, making every effort to create a public service space, an urban think tank, a citizens' living room, a cultural exchange platform and a place to stimulate creativity.

In terms of design, the exterior of the Chang'an Academy Pavilion integrates tradition and modernity, and the roof of the traditional Chinese building "anti-Yu Xiangyang" gently spreads a continuous and complete warped roof on the bank of the Bahe River, and the warping of the eaves gives the building flexibility. The stretched roof is like an open book, adding a bit of cultural connotation to the bank of the Bahe River.
The space design of the museum emphasizes the integration of the internal space and the external environment, with the theme of cultural canyon, a long history, a meandering knowledge canyon runs through the building, connecting the greening of the central axis with the riverside landscape.
All reading spaces in the library are closely integrated with the canyon-like atrium, allowing the environment to naturally penetrate into the interior, providing readers with the best reading experience.

After the Spring Festival this year, the outdoor landscape and interior decoration construction of the project were fully launched in the Chang'an Academy area.

As of June 21, the construction of the secondary masonry, plastering and coating of the Chang'an Academy project has been completed by 65%, the construction of outdoor green landscape, terrain refinement and turf paving has been completed by 95%, the laying of outdoor stone samples has been completed, and the preparatory work of outdoor large-area stone laying has been started, and about 50% of the mechanical and electrical installation and fire protection construction have been completed, 60% of the toilet model construction has been completed, and 25% of the fine decoration grid construction has been completed, and the established goal of delivery within the year has been prepared.
In the future, the library area of Chang'an Academy will give full play to the leading role of the leading library, rely on the overall framework of information technology with complete functions, realize the function of online network library, connect with the Shaanxi Provincial Library, and provide readers with richer reading choices.
In addition, it will also establish a resource sharing mechanism with 63 university libraries in Xi'an to provide differentiated reading resources for teachers and students of colleges and universities, and promote the exchange and integration of academic and cultural exchanges.
At the same time, the Xi'an Youth Activity Center will be built on the original site of the Xi'an Library, which is located east of Weiyang Road and between Fengcheng 2nd Road and 3rd Road, and a tender announcement has been issued a few days ago.
The overall planning construction area of the project is 76,300 square meters, which will be renovated and upgraded Xi'an Library and the Municipal Women and Children's Activity Center, with a construction area of 19,000 square meters, and the original Xi'an Library will be changed to Xi'an Children's Library, and the new comprehensive building will be a youth activity center, with a total construction area of 45,160 square meters and a building height of 49.65m, which is divided into 9 floors above ground and 1 floor underground.

It is worth noting that the large outdoor space on the east and west sides of the project will be transformed for children, with a total land area of 22,000 square meters, and it is planned to be built as an all-age child-friendly park, while improving the quality of greening, increasing children's games, sports and fitness, barrier-free and other infrastructure.
