In order to strictly implement the "double reduction" policy, reduce the burden of students' homework, and make the final test more in line with the age characteristics of children, on June 28, the Central Primary School of Dagui Town, Pingli County, adopted a new method for monitoring students' academic level and carried out a "paperless" test for the first and second grades.
The school adopts a combination of process evaluation, final evaluation, appraisal evaluation and final non-paper and pencil testing. The process evaluation comprehensively evaluates students' learning attitude and pre-class preparation, classroom listening and thinking, classroom communication and answering questions, and homework completion. The final evaluation is a three-star evaluation of students' academic quality. The appraisal evaluation comprehensively identifies the students' learning attitude, learning ability, and learning performance through self-evaluation, parent evaluation, and teacher evaluation, and gives an objective star evaluation.
The final non-paper-based assessment of Chinese and Mathematics in Year 1 and Year 2 is conducted in the form of game passes. Chinese students need to pass the five levels of phonics paradise, word blossoming, word salon, memory superman, and being able to speak, while mathematics students need to pass the five levels of graphic playground, calculation master, schema skillful matching, operation expert, and literacy display table. Teachers rate students as excellent, good, pass, and to pass based on their test performance.
This non-paper-based test was unique, allowing the children to re-understand themselves and build self-confidence.
