On the morning of June 28, as the first car slowly drove into the Lixin Shadong Road Bridge, the left width of the cross-line bridge of the Wanhuan West Road Rapid Transformation Project, a key construction project in Nansha District, Guangzhou, was officially completed and opened to traffic, and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor was quickly connected, which is of great significance for optimizing the structure of Nansha's transportation network and creating a "half-hour traffic circle" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The Wanhuan West Road Rapid Transformation Project is located in the core area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area - between Hengli Town and Wanqingsha Town, Nansha District, connecting Nansha Port Area, Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor and Nanzhong Expressway to the south, Dongxin Expressway, Nansha Port Expressway and Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway to the north, and is constructed by the Nansha District Construction Center.
The renovation of the project includes the expansion of Wanhuan West Road to a width of 60 meters and a length of 14.27 kilometers, the expansion of Fanzhong Highway to a width of 46 meters and a length of 1.29 kilometers, and the reconstruction of five nodes of Nansha Port Railway, Fanzhong Highway, Nanzhu Avenue, Lixin Shadong Road and Wanlong Avenue.
Among them, there are 2 new tunnels with a total length of about 1 km, 5 bridges with a total length of about 2 km, and 5 pedestrian overpasses. The main construction contents include road engineering, bridge engineering, tunnel engineering, drainage engineering, traffic engineering, electric power engineering, lighting engineering, greening engineering, etc.
After the completion of the project, it will break through the traffic bottleneck at the throat, further establish Nansha's status as a transportation hub in the geographical and geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and provide strong support for the strategic development of Nansha New Area.

"The Lixinsha cross-line bridge and Wanlong Avenue cross-line bridge that were completed and opened to traffic this time are the control node projects of the Wanhuan West Road Rapid Transformation Project, with a length of 405 meters, 470 meters and a width of 12.5 meters. The opening of traffic marks the basic realization of 'no traffic light' fast passage in the left 8 to 14 chong sections of Wanhuan West Road, which will greatly improve the traffic efficiency of the masses.
