Under the guidance of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission, sponsored by the Equipment Department of the Military Aerospace Force, and co-organized by the Beijing Institute of Remote Sensing Information, the Key Laboratory of Smart Earth, the State Key Laboratory of Aerospace Dynamics, and the Aerospace Information Innovation Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the 4th "Tianzhi Cup" Artificial Intelligence Challenge has opened the test and evaluation service of online subjects, and has officially entered the intense online preliminary stage.

The 4th "Tianzhi Cup" Artificial Intelligence Challenge accelerates the development of intelligent aerospace, leads the country's superior forces to tackle key problems collaboratively, fully excavates the outstanding talent team in the aerospace field, creates a national intelligent application ecology in the aerospace field, and promotes talent training, exchanges and cooperation in the field and the transformation of achievements. Since the competition started registration on June 1 this year, up to now, it has attracted 467 real-name registration teams from Tsinghua University, National University of Defense Technology, Wuhan University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Aerospace Engineering University, Information Engineering University, Aerospace Science and Industry, iFLYTEK, China Four-Dimensional Surveying and Mapping, Zhongke Star Map, Aerospace Hongtu, Changguang Satellite and other military and local units, with 1,687 contestants.

About the competition

The "Tianzhi Cup" Artificial Intelligence Challenge is an artificial intelligence technology competition for aerospace applications under the guidance of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission and sponsored by the Equipment Department of the Military Aerospace Force. The competition follows the principle of "openness, fairness, justice, innovation, integration, and leadership", selects teams with advantages in artificial intelligence technology across the country, gathers the strongest brains, gathers advanced technologies, and strives to promote the rapid and in-depth application of artificial intelligence technology in aerospace applications.

Contest process

The subjects of this competition are divided into online and offline categories according to the preliminaries process, and each subject is registered through the official website of the competition (www.tianzhibei.com), of which 4 subjects of "remote sensing data intelligent application field", 3 subjects of "smart earth field", and 2 subjects of "spacecraft intelligent management and control field" rely on the online platform for online preliminaries, and select the winning teams to enter the offline semi-finals and finals, and the rest of the offline subjects do not have online preliminaries, and the specific process is as follows.

Online subjects

Online Preliminary Selection (2024.6 — 8)

The teams directly register on the official website of the competition (www.tianzhibei.com), use public data to train and test the model, and submit the algorithm model online for evaluation, and the top 10 teams with relevant qualifications will be qualified for the semi-finals by the deadline of the annual list (August 31, 2024).

Offline Semi-finals (2024.9)

The participating teams arrive at the location designated by the organizer, use non-public data to train and test the algorithm model, and the organizer ranks the participating teams according to the evaluation results, and selects the top 5 to enter the on-site finals.

On-site Finals (2024.10)

The participating teams arrive at the location designated by the organizer, use non-public data to train and test the algorithm model, and the organizer ranks the participating teams according to the evaluation results, and determines 1 champion, 1 runner-up, 1 third runner-up, and 2 excellence awards.

Offline subjects

Offline Preliminaries (2024.9)

Teams participating in offline subjects can register through the official website (www.tianzhibei.com) of the competition (the deadline is June 30, 2024), and the registration is successful after receiving the review notice, and the registration status can be checked on the official website.

The offline preliminary round will be held in mid to early September 2024, where the participating teams will arrive at the location designated by the organizer to train and test the algorithm model using non-public data, and the organizer will rank the participating teams according to the evaluation results and select the top 5 to enter the on-site finals.

On-site Finals (2024.10)

The participating teams arrive at the location designated by the organizer, use non-public data to train and test the algorithm model, and the organizer ranks the participating teams according to the evaluation results, and determines 1 champion, 1 runner-up, 1 third runner-up, and 2 excellence awards.

Awards

Participating teams will be ranked based on their test scores. 1 champion, 1 runner-up and 1 third runner-up and 2 excellence awards will be awarded for each competition subject.

Champion $1,000,000

The runner-up is 300,000 yuan

The third place is 200,000 yuan

The total prize pool is 18 million yuan

Guideline

Contest Description

1. The competition is a public welfare event, and there is no charge for the participating teams.

2. The unit of the team participating in the offline subjects and offline preliminaries must have relevant qualifications, and the unit of the team participating in the competition such as individuals and students must provide relevant certificates;

3. Team members must be nationals of the People's Republic of China, and the number of team members must not exceed 5;

4. In order to expand the participation in the competition, only one team of the same team (the secondary department of the company, the research department of the research institute, the research group of the department of the school, etc.) can register for the competition, and the organizer will review and decide whether the multiple teams belong to the same team, and the organizer has the right to cancel the qualification of the duplicate teams.

5. Each team is limited to 2 subjects in each field, and the number of subjects for the same team to enter the finals does not exceed 2, if there is exceedance, the participating team will choose any 2 subjects, and the vacant finals will be filled from the ranking from high to low according to the results of the previous stage of the competition;

6. The same person can only register for one team in the same field, and cannot join multiple teams;
