On June 29, 2024, the Juvenile Protection Workstation of Longtan Street, Qixia District, Nanjing City, together with the Longtan Fire First Class Station, hosted a fire safety activity with the theme of "Flame Guardian Safety with Me" by the Little Genius Youth Development Service Center of Qixia District, Nanjing. This activity aims to enhance the understanding of fire protection work among young people, improve their fire safety awareness and emergency response ability, and lay a solid foundation for their safe growth.
In recent years, with the acceleration of urbanization and frequent fire accidents, fire safety education for young people is particularly important. However, in real life, many teenagers do not have enough knowledge of fire safety and lack the necessary emergency response capabilities. Therefore, the Longtan Street Juvenile Protection Workstation has been committed to providing a safe, healthy and happy growth environment for teenagers, and has specially planned this firefighting professional experience activity.
On the day of the event, more than 20 minors from Longtan Street. They first learned about the job and responsibilities of firefighters and the daily working environment. Subsequently, by introducing the structure of the fire truck and trying on firefighting equipment such as firefighting suits, shawls, helmets, etc., the teenagers experienced first-hand the division of labor and cooperation of firefighters and emergency rescue operations. In addition, in order to get a more realistic experience of the daily work of firefighters, the teenagers climbed into the fire truck with the help of their firefighter uncles and toured the facilities inside the car.
In the core part of the activity, the firefighters carried out the popularization of fire extinguishing and escape knowledge, and introduced in detail how to report the fire alarm, escape at the fire scene and the basic methods of fire extinguishing. The teenagers also actively participated in the practice of simulated fire escape, fire extinguisher use and water cannon use, and through hands-on experience, they mastered basic fire escape and self-rescue skills.
At the end of the event, all the participants took a group photo to record this unforgettable experience. Through this activity, the teenagers not only had an in-depth understanding of the importance of firefighting, but also improved their fire safety awareness and emergency response ability. At the same time, the activity also enhanced the communication and interaction between the young people and the firefighters, and promoted mutual understanding and trust.
The successful holding of the "Flame Guardian Safety Walk with Me" fire safety activity not only provides a platform for young people to learn fire safety knowledge, but also creates a good atmosphere for the whole society to pay attention to fire safety and care about the growth of young people. The Longtan Street Minor Protection Workstation will continue to work hard to escort the safe growth of young people.
