Artist Profile
Meng Fudan, born in Guangzhou in 1953, graduated from Guangzhou Normal School in 1972, majored in basic art, studied in the printmaking department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1990, majored in figure modeling, studied literature and art, art theory and Chinese figure painting at Jinan University in 1995 (tutor Lin Yong), former art editor of Guangdong People's Publishing House, art editor and director of art design department of Guangdong New Century Publishing House. He is currently the vice president of Guangdong Art Oriental Painting Academy, a member of Guangdong Chinese Painting Society, a director of Meishe Calligraphy and Painting Academy, an honorary advisor of the Chinese Academy of Ethnic Culture, a director of the Association for the Promotion of American Chinese Industry Exchange, and a director of the European-Chinese International Association of Contemporary Art and Culture.
Chronology of Art
In 1988, an exhibition of 100 famous painters from Guangdong, including Lu Yanguang, Meng Fudan and Jiang Yu, was held in Hong Kong.
In 1990, Liang Yusheng's martial arts novels "Ice River Sword Washing Record", "Dragon and Tiger Fighting Jinghua", "Legend of the Absolute Fortress", "Wudang Sword", "Crazy Heroes and Tianjiao Witch", "Seven Swords Under the Heavenly Mountain" six works collection painting illustration;
In 1992, the Indian epic comic strip "Maha Parada" was selected and published in the "Illustrated Chinese Comic Strip";
In 1994, Guangdong People's Publishing House published the album "Mengfudan Illustration Design";
In 1998, he was selected as one of the "100 Outstanding Contemporary Artists" by the Jury of 100 Outstanding Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters and the Chinese Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Association.
In 1996, he cooperated with Lu Yanguang and Jiang Yuzhi to create a 100-meter-long large-scale mural relief "Nanzhou Style" for Guangzhou Sculpture Park;
In 2001, he designed and produced a large-scale gold leaf painting "Xiangyun Yingmen, Grain Harvest" for the lobby of Wuliangye Building in Chengdu;
In 2008, donated the gold foil lacquer painting "Song of the Wind" to the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China;
In 2009, he donated the celebrity sculpture of Mrs. Snow's "Helen" to Cedar City, Utah, USA;
In 2010, he cooperated with Lu Yanguang to create a large-scale wood carving mural "Ode to Ancient and Modern Yangcheng" for the National Archives of Guangzhou.
In 2011, he designed and produced the relief sculpture of "Cantonese Opera Collection" for the exterior wall of Guangdong Cantonese Opera Art Center;
In 2011, he designed and produced the relief sculpture of "Guanyi Trade Map" for the lobby of Dongguan General Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong;
In 2014, he collaborated with the famous painter Lu Yanguang to paint "Chinese Filial Piety (1)", and in 2016, he painted "Chinese Filial Piety (2)", which was stamped by China Post.
In 2015, he participated in the "Into Rong Bao Zhai" Guangdong Contemporary Chinese Painting Masters Invitational Exhibition.
In 2021, he participated in the exhibition "Lingnan Knowledge" at the Lingnan Hall in Guangzhou to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
In 2022, he participated in the "30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and South Korea" art festival, and his "December Flower God" was exhibited at the Seoul Museum of Art.
In August 2023, the "10th Anniversary of the Belt and Road" Mengfudan's "Walking with Silk" color and ink painting exhibition will be held in the exhibition hall of the Guangdong Overseas Economic Development Promotion Association.
In October 2023, the "Sailing South Vietnam: Silk Language Millennium" Mengfudan Color and Ink Painting Exhibition will be held in the exhibition hall of Yuexiu District Library in Guangzhou.
In November 2023, the "Meet in Orchid Garden: Tracing the Origin of the Maritime Silk Road" Mengfudan Color and Ink Painting Exhibition will be held at the Orchid National Fragrance Museum in Guangzhou.
In December 2023, the "Gathering in Lingnan Impression Garden, Color Ink Danqing Silk Road Love" Mengfudan Color Ink Painting Exhibition will be held at the Lingnan Impression Garden of Guangzhou University Town.
