The reporter learned on the 30th that the 2024 Fudan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Annual Meeting and the National Continuing Medical Education Project "Standardized Treatment and Repair and Reconstruction of Oral and Maxillofacial Head and Neck Malignant Tumors" were held to further improve the level of diagnosis and treatment of head and neck tumors and continuously improve the quality of life of patients with oral and maxillofacial tumors after surgery.
The event was hosted by the China Association for Health Promotion and Education and the Beijing All-Age Community Health Promotion Center, co-organized by Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University and School of Stomatology of Fudan University, and undertaken by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University. The conference focused on the basic research of oral and maxillofacial surgery, the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases and experience sharing, the multidisciplinary collaboration and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial head and neck tumors, new concepts and technologies of tumor treatment, the latest developments and progress in clinical research, the application of digital and artificial intelligence technology, clinical skills and standardized operation demonstrations, musculocutaneous flap preparation and repair skills, and other details and hot topics.
Fan Jia, Honorary Chairman of the Conference, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and President of Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, pointed out that in promoting the construction of the National Medical Center, Zhongshan Hospital has made a reasonable layout for problems and difficulties, focusing on the difficult problems in the direction of oral and maxillofacial tumors, obeying the overall national strategy, helping to build a healthy China, and working with the expert team to promote the basic research and clinical research in the direction of stomatology, collaboratively achieve theoretical breakthroughs and technological breakthroughs, and continuously improve the clinical and scientific research capabilities to solve problems.
Professor Zhang Chenping from the Ninth People's Hospital (Zhejiang Cancer Hospital) affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine said that with the gradual differentiation of clinical disciplines and the gradual improvement of specialization, it is obvious that the diagnosis and treatment mode of a single discipline cannot meet the overall treatment needs of patients.
