First, the situation of the party members
Gender, ethnicity and educational background of Party members. There were 30.185 million female party members, accounting for 30.4% of the total number of party members. There were 7.592 million ethnic minority party members, accounting for 7.7 percent. There were 55.786 million party members with college degree or above, accounting for 56.2%.
The age of the party member. There were 12.412 million party members aged 30 and below, 11.196 million party members aged 31 to 35, 10.864 million party members aged 36 to 40, 9.459 million party members aged 41 to 45, 9.071 million party members aged 46 to 50, 9.405 million party members aged 51 to 55, 8.907 million party members aged 56 to 60, and 27.872 million party members aged 61 and above.
The time when the party member joined the party. 68,000 joined the Party before the founding of the People's Republic of China, 12.863 million joined the Party after the founding of the People's Republic of China and before the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, 60.142 million joined the Party after the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and before the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and 26.112 million joined the Party since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The profession of a party member. There were 6.643 million workers (service and service skills), 26.075 million farmers, herdsmen and fishermen, 16.190 million professional and technical personnel of enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 11.453 million managers of enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 7.645 million staff of party and government organs, 2.771 million students, 7.764 million other professionals, and 20.644 million retirees.
Second, the development of party members
In 2023, a total of 2.408 million party members will be developed.
Develop the gender, ethnicity, age and educational background of party members. 1,105,000 female party members, accounting for 45.9 percent. There were 252,000 ethnic minority party members, accounting for 10.5 percent. There were 1.983 million party members aged 35 and below, accounting for 82.4%. There were 1.28 million party members with college degree or above, accounting for 53.1%.
Develop the profession of party members. There are 158,000 workers (skilled workers), 375,000 farmers, herdsmen and fishermen, 351,000 professional and technical personnel of enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 267,000 managers of enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 119,000 staff members of party and government organs, 919,000 students, and 218,000 other professionals. 1.276 million party members were developed in the front line of production and work.
3. Intra-party commendations
In 2023, party organizations at all levels across the country will commend 138,000 advanced grassroots party organizations, 693,000 outstanding communist party members, and 199,000 outstanding party workers. A total of 795,000 commemorative medals of "50 Years of Glory in the Party" were awarded throughout the year.
4. Application for Party membership
By the end of 2023, there will be 20.980 million applicants for party membership and 10.547 million party activists nationwide.
5. Party organizations
Local committees of the party. There are a total of 3,199 local party committees at all levels in the country. Among them, there are 31 provincial (regional, municipal) party committees, 397 municipal (prefecture) party committees, and 2,771 county (city, district, banner) party committees.
Party organizations in urban streets, townships, communities, and administrative villages. Party organizations have been established in 9,125 urban streets, 29,620 townships, 119437 communities, and 488959 administrative villages across the country, with a coverage rate of more than 99.9 percent.
Party organizations of government organs, public institutions, enterprises, and social organizations. There are 771,000 grass-roots party organizations in government organs, 997,000 grass-roots party organizations in public institutions, 1.600 million grass-roots party organizations in enterprises, and 183,000 grass-roots party organizations in social organizations.
