On June 26, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website of Singapore updated the PR application system, and there were major changes to the companion pass application.
Eligibility to apply for a companion card
Before June 26, each child can only apply for a companion visa for one parent, and it must be a mother or grandmother or grandmother. The child's father/grandfather is not eligible to apply for a companion pass!
On June 26, the USCIS application system was updated to show that not only the child's mother/grandmother/grandmother can apply for a companion visa, but the child's father/grandfather/maternal grandfather can also apply for a companion pass!

On the online application submission page, there are two more options: father and grandfather.
About the Singapore Companion Pass
Parents who are studying in Singapore can apply for a companion pass as long as they are under the age of 16. During the period of the accompanying pass, the accompanying parents can enter and exit Singapore as they wish, without having to apply for a separate tourist visa.
Companion Pass Application Requirements:
1. The child has a Singapore student visa;
2. The child's student visa type is eligible to apply for a companion visa for family members (it is best to confirm with the school whether they are eligible to apply for a companion visa);
3. Each child can only apply for one parent to accompany the student;
4. The accompanying student visa is valid for one year and is renewed once a year until the child is over 16 years old, or the child's student visa expires;
5. A Singapore Citizen or PR (aged above 21 years) is required to act as a sponsor to help sponsor you.
Documents required to apply for a companion card
A recent color photograph of the applicant with a white background
Applicant's passport (valid for 6 months)
Student's birth certificate
Applicant's birth certificate/family register
Marriage certificate of the student's parents
Divorce certificate, separation certificate and guardianship documents of the student's parents (if applicable)
A letter from the student's school

Fill out and submit the application materials online
Submissions to the Immigration Department of Singapore
Submit all documents to the Immigration Department of Singapore and the sponsor and the applicant need to be present.
As an interview may be required by the Immigration Department, both the applicant and the sponsor will need to be present.
Attend a medical check-up
While waiting for the approval of the companion pass by the Immigration Department of Singapore, the applicant can go to a local hospital for a medical examination and receive a medical examination report.
IPA Letters
After the application is approved, the Immigration Department will issue an IPA letter, which is valid for two months, and the applicant can use this letter to collect the Companion Pass at the Immigration Department.
Collect a companion visa
Make an appointment online to collect your documents. It is recommended that the sponsor accompany the applicant to collect the item. Within 15 minutes after the fingerprint is pressed, an electronic version of the accompanying visa will be sent to the reserved mailbox.
