Yesterday (June 30), the "Jiangnan Old Things, Fish and Water Love" New Fourth Army School of Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition was launched in Changshu Shajiabang Revolutionary History Memorial Hall.
This year is the 60th anniversary of the naming of the Peking Opera "Shajiabang", and the Shajiabang Revolutionary History Memorial Hall specially planned the "Old Things in the South of the Yangtze River, Deep Love in Fish and Water" New Fourth Army School of Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, with a total of 17 fine paintings with red elements.
Among these paintings, there are not only freehand ink paintings represented by "Morning Glows Reflected on Yangcheng Lake" showing the deep love between the military and civilians in the Jiangnan area, but also realistic paintings with the theme of famous battles of the New Fourth Army. Historical pictures and scenes of water town customs lead visitors to relive the military and civilian fish and water conditions in the years of the Anti-Japanese War, and jointly recall the eventful years of this "iron army".
"My team and I began to draw the New Fourth Army in 2003, and it is our unshirkable responsibility to reflect the spiritual characteristics of the 'military-civilian fish and water situation' of uniting in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and carry it forward in the new historical period." Huang Jiaming, a famous contemporary Chinese painter, founder of the "New Fourth Army School" and president of Shanghai Kyushu Painting Academy, said.
The New Fourth Army School is another red classic school after the "Loess School" which mainly created historical themes of the Eighth Route Army and the "Kwantung School" which mainly created historical themes of the Anti-Japanese Allied Army. Since 2003, the creative team of the New Fourth Army School represented by Huang Jiaming has created hundreds of works and held many exhibitions. The huge Chinese painting "The Great Wall Extends Here - The Hundred Heroes of the New Fourth Army" created by them is the only Chinese painting and calligraphy work on the historical theme of the New Fourth Army in the collection of the China Military Museum. The academic value of their works has also attracted the attention of the calligraphy and painting art market, and they are known as the red classic painting school that came out of the art market.
