Co-sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Longhua District Party Committee, the Propaganda Department of the Shenzhen Longhua District Party Committee, the Education Bureau of Longhua District, and the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Longhua District, Shenzhen, aiming to promote the construction of Longhua's international image and promote the improvement of young people's international literacy.

The "Voice of Chinese Youth" Foreign Language Speech Event is the first team-based, multilingual and innovative domestic youth speech event taking place both online and onsite, co-hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Shenzhen Longhua District Committee, the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Longhua District Committee, the Education Bureau of Shenzhen Longhua District and the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Shenzhen Longhua District. The event aims to promote the global image of Longhua District and improve teenagers' international literacy.

Chinese Stories, World Expression

Taking the classic characters in domestic cartoons as the incision, the speech will focus on international hot topics such as China's excellent traditional culture, Shenzhen spirit, AI artificial intelligence, community with a shared future, and sustainable development. Looking at the world, we should use China's image to tell Chinese stories well, express China's views, and give out the good voice of Chinese teenagers.

Students shall take classic characters from domestic animated cartoons as an entry point and deliver speeches on the fine traditional Chinese culture, Shenzhen Spirit, and AI, as well as world hotspot issues like a community with a shared future and sustainable development. You are expected to tell Chinese stories, express Chinese opinions and make Chinese youth’s voice heard by the world.

The event is open to teenagers under the age of 18, including domestic and overseas Chinese youths, ethnic Chinese and overseas Chinese youths, as well as international youths who are studying and growing up in China.

Individual Presentations

1. Bring your own speech costumes, props and makeup, and record your own speech video and upload it.

The participants shall prepare the speech costumes, props and makeup, record and submit the speech video.

2. The length of the speech video is controlled within 3 minutes.

The length of the speech video shall be limited to 3 minutes.

3. The speech language is English or minor language, and bilingual subtitles must be made in Chinese and foreign.

The language of the speech shall be English or other foreign languages, and bilingual subtitles in both Chinese and a certain foreign language (preferably English) are required.

Team presentations

Group Presentations

1. Bring your own speech costumes, props and makeup, and each school will record a speech video completed by about 4-10 students.

The groups shall prepare the speech costumes, props and makeup. Please record a speech video jointly completed by around 4-10 students from each school.

2. The video length is controlled within 5-10 minutes.

The length of the record video shall be 5-10 minutes.

3. The speech language should be English or minor language (multilingual can also be mixed), and Chinese and foreign bilingual subtitles should be added.

The language of the speech shall be English or other foreign languages (can also be delivered in multiple languages), with subtitles in both Chinese and a certain foreign language (preferably English).

Students in Longhua District shall be uniformly submitted by the school according to the notice documents in the district.

Students from Longhua District will have their works submitted through their respective schools in accordance with notification document(s) of the district authority.

Schools outside Longhua District

Students outside Longhua District are required to scan the QR code below to fill in the application form and send the video works to [email protected]. The subject title and attachment should be named: Group + Individual (or Group) + Place Name (city/district) + School Name + Application Form for the Fourth “Voice of Chinese Youth” Foreign Language Speech Event.

Awards

Award Settings

The first, second and third prizes will be awarded in proportion to the individual presentation. The winning students and instructors will receive an official certificate of honor.

Individual presentations will be awarded the first, second, and third prizes. The award-winning students and their mentors will receive official certificates of honour.

The group shows that each school will compete for the champion, runner-up, third runner-up and other awards according to the group, and issue corresponding honorary certificates.

In the group presentations, schools will compete for the first, second, third prizes and several other wards, based on their respective groups. The award-winning schools will receive corresponding honorary certificates.
