The Yanqi Basin is located in the middle of the southern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains and has a long history of viticulture and winemaking. The winery here produces seven series of products, including dry red, dry white, sweet wine, sparkling wine, grape spirits, special fruit wines, and fortified wines, forming a wine with unique flavor and characteristics.
Wang Xiyuan, director of the Bazhou Wine Industry Development Bureau, said: "The acquisition of the geographical indication certification trademark of 'Yanqi Basin Wine' will have a positive and far-reaching impact on the wine industry in Yanqi Basin. This is not only a high recognition and strong protection of the quality and safety of Yanqi Basin wine, but also an important opportunity for Yanqi Basin to enhance its brand influence, and we are more confident and determined to make the Yanqi Basin wine industry bigger and stronger. ”
Li Ruiqin, president of the Bazhou Wine Association, introduced that the Yanqi Basin has sufficient sunshine and a large temperature difference between day and night, and the basin is surrounded by mountains, forming an intermountain basin that is long from east to west and narrow from north to south, covering an area of about 13,000 square kilometers. The Kaidu River flows through the basin from west to east, along with China's largest inland freshwater lake, Bosten Lake, creating a peculiar "Eastern Mediterranean climate" for the appellation that nourishes this magical land.
In 2023, the planting area of wine grapes in the Yanqi Basin will reach 120,000 mu, with 40 wineries, producing 10,000 tons of raw wine, and achieving a total industrial production value of 820 million yuan. Over the years, the wineries in the Yanqi Basin wine producing area have won thousands of international and domestic gold medals and grand gold medals. On September 6, at the "Fourth Summit of the Wine Industry Leading 50 Conference" hosted by the China Liquor Circulation Association, Xinjiang Tiansai Winery Co., Ltd. was ranked among the top 50 at the 4th Summit of the Wine Industry Leading 50 Conference, becoming the only boutique winery in China's top 50 wine industry.
"Good wine is grown." Chen Lizhong, secretary of the Party branch of the Bazhou Wine Association and chairman of Xinjiang Tiansai Winery Co., Ltd., said that factors such as how many bunches of grapes hang on a vine, thinning the leaves, and allowing the grapes to turn over to evenly absorb sunlight all determine the quality of the wine. The "National Geographical Indication Certification Trademark" can be described as an encouragement and affirmation of the local excellent wine enterprises for their serious winemaking and unremitting perseverance over the years.

In recent years, Bazhou has opened up a new development path of "wine + culture + tourism + health care", showing a comprehensive effect of connecting the two industries and the first industry driving the three industries. Bazhou has also been awarded the "National Organic Agriculture (Wine Grape) Demonstration Base" assessed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the seasonal employment of more than 100,000 people in the grape industry has reached more than 100,000 people.
