In the face of the general trend of new energy for light commercial vehicles, based on in-depth insight into the market and user needs, Panhub released the PDS310KWA distributed in-wheel drive axle suitable for light commercial vehicles for the first time at this IAA exhibition.
The electric drive axle can be applied to urban buses, vans, light trucks and other multi-category, multi-scene applications, through the use of axial flux motor, direct drive, cancel the transmission half shaft, reduce parts, shorten the transmission chain, simplify the mechanical transmission structure, reduce weight; The architecture of distributed drive, each wheel is driven independently, and every bit of power is accurately distributed, making the vehicle more stable and safe.
Because the drive motor is highly integrated with the vehicle's wheel hub, the chassis flatness and spare space are greatly extended, so that vans equipped with PDS310KWA distributed wheel hub drive axles can have a flatter and more spacious cargo space. Under the condition that the height of the original car remains unchanged, the height of the cargo platform can be reduced by about 400mm, and can fall between the wheel motors, thereby increasing the original cargo box volume by more than 20%; Each vehicle can pull about 3.5m³ of goods, which greatly increases the value of revenue while the operating cost is almost unchanged.

Compared with the original version, the PDS320KW has realized the upgrade of the power of a single motor from 120KW to 160KW without increasing the volume of the system assembly, and the total power of the system has been increased from 240KW to 320KW, making the power more powerful;
At the same time, the PDS320KW adopts the overall structure of "axial flux motor + planetary gear reducer", which has a higher degree of integration and less space occupation, and can freely choose to load twin wheels or "super single tire" according to the actual working conditions, and can realize the "drive + steering" function of the rear wheels to further improve the flexibility of vehicle operation; Thanks to the structural advantages of the axial flux motor, this system realizes two-stage gear transmission, with less kinetic energy loss, thus effectively improving the overall operation efficiency.

Thanks to the obvious advantages of the disc hub "double power" motor in the axial size, the axle can be easily equipped with a three-speed gearbox, the first, second and third gears have corresponding transmission gears, according to the different working conditions of each gear gear, the gear is modified, greatly improving the NVH performance, each gear gear is a two-stage transmission, while greatly improving the transmission efficiency, the motor is basically in the efficient working range at each speed.
