Long weekend we go to Budapest can be good (part 1) | travels to the East

Compared with many well-known European cities, many cities in Eastern European countries have a very low sense of existence, so if you want to go out on a relaxing excursion on a long weekend, and take a baby, you may want to go to Paris, Rome, Vienna, these old tourist resorts that are safe and secure.

What if the major cities in the southwest and northern Europe have already clocked in, or do you just want to go to something more fresh?

The major cities of the Eastern European countries should be the well-deserved choice. In recent years, these countries have gradually joined the EU Schengen Agreement, eliminating the need for visas. Although many Eastern European countries still use their national currencies, it is convenient that the euro is accepted at major attractions and shops. The quality of shopping and services is gradually on par with that of Western Europe, but prices are still very reasonable compared to Western Europe, and flights to and from British cities are becoming more frequent.

So this long weekend, two and a half hours flight, first to Budapest can be good?

Looking back at the history of Budapest, the Roman Empire first established settlements here (there were Romans where there were hot springs), and then the situation was turbulent after the decline of the Roman Empire, until the Magyars from the Turks settled here in the 9th century, and the situation began to ease.

Gradually the Christian faith became popular, agriculture and animal husbandry were revitalized, and life was lived in peace and contentment until the end of the Mongol invasion in the 13th century, and Budapest was almost completely destroyed.

After the Mongols were followed by the Turks, the Ottoman Empire began to attack Hungary continuously in the 15th century, most of Hungary was destroyed, until the Habsburgs gradually defeated the Ottoman Empire and restored Hungary, and in 1867, the Austro-Hungarian Empire was established, Hungary ushered in a golden period of cultural and economic development.

However, after the defeat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after World War I, Hungary was first occupied by Nazi Germany in World War II, then destroyed by Allied bombing, and finally the 100-day siege of the Soviet army, which was very tragic. In 1945 Hungary became part of the division of Soviet power. Then came the history we also witnessed, when the 1990 popular elections decided to break away from the socialist camp and become a republic.

In short, looking at history, this is a country with many changes in rulers and many disasters, and at present, Hungary has not joined the ranks of developed countries.

So when we came to Budapest with low expectations and got up on Saturday to stroll through the middle of the city, we were greatly shocked.

First of all, the whole city is very beautiful, the blue Danube River runs through the city, buda in the west of the river is quiet and elegant, and pest in the east of the river is full of youthful vitality, and the style of the architecture in the city is often reminiscent of Paris or Vienna, but its intimate and peaceful atmosphere is far better than other more popular European tourist cities.

A foodie's journey must begin with an uplifting meal.

Saturday lunch at one star on Onyx. Personal experience feels that in cities with relatively few Michelin-starred restaurants, such restaurants are generally full of flamboyance, basically have a kind of spirit of the city's first restaurant, and must make diners marvel at everything from food to service.

Desserts are lavender apricot cheesecake and Hungarian liqueur sponge cake

This is our modest four-course lunch menu, and for dinner there is a "Hungarian Evolution" menu, which claims to be the latest cooking method to prepare traditional Hungarian cuisine, which is even more novel and interesting.

This meal I think the most worth mentioning is the aperitif, we tasted the local Hungarian sparkling wine Kreinbacher Prestige Brut, Chinese translated into a very grand name called Grainbach Grand Sir Sparkling Wine, came back to check the price is actually lower than the mass production of mass champagne, the taste I think the fruity aroma is long and bubbled, you can buy it to drink, the taste is quite good.

After drinking and eating, we all felt a little unable to walk, and the family of three went back to the hotel to take a nap, after all, the relaxation of the heart is the first priority of the long weekend trip.

After the break, we walked to the Central Market, a wet market for local residents and a place where tourists are keen to buy souvenirs and taste local snacks.

Hungarian cuisine is very similar to German cuisine, but also a variety of big meat sausage smoked elbows, vegetables and what is all dependent on sauerkraut to dissolve, and small potato fried pancake bread and the like as a staple food, look very happy.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle, I found something magical, which was goose oil residue! This aroma is crisp and delicious, but how unhealthy is the unhealthy snack that is sold here so freely, it is really an inhuman torture for weight loss people, and how do Hungarians eat goose oil residue? Have we resisted the temptation? Listen to the next breakdown.
