There was a girl who had given her life for a red-crowned crane. Her name is Xu Xiujuan.
She was only twenty-three years old when she left. She and her family live in the Zhalong Wetland of Heilongjiang National Nature Reserve. From the day the Zhalong Nature Reserve was established, their family became the guardians of the red-crowned crane.
