Xiangshan Town, which belongs to Daying County, Suining City, Sichuan Province, is located in the northwest of Daying County, bordering Hongfuxi Town to the east, Penglai Town to the south, Puxing Town of Zhongjiang County to the west, and Jianzhong Township of Sandai County to the north. The area is 52.8 square kilometers, about 59.4 kilometers away from Suining City, about 18.4 kilometers away from Daying County, and 15 kilometers away from Penglai. According to the 2020 national census data, the registered population of Xiangshan Town is 31,361 people. The town is dependent on the Hurong Expressway, with prosperous commerce, convenient transportation and more developed culture, with rice, cotton, sweet potatoes, wheat, sorghum and corn as the main crops.

Xiangshan Academy is hidden in the depths of the mountains and forests, educating countless people. But what really makes it famous is that it was once one of the rear bases for the underground activities of the Chinese Communist Party.
Around 1938, the underground Communist Parties in Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing and other places successively came to Xiangshan as a cover to engage in underground revolutionary work, such as He Cheng, Li Fanshan, Tan Weigen, Tan Weigen, Tan Weizhong, and other revolutionary volunteers who successively engaged in revolutionary activities here.
In 1943, when the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was in a stalemate, ten students from Xiangshan Academy joined the Expeditionary Force to India.
In 1949, the guerrillas organized by the local working committees of Suining, Santai, Zhongjiang, Pengxi and other local work committees established the Chuanzhong Column Headquarters in the academy, and the commander was Prince Du of Suining.
Xiangshan Academy has experienced ups and downs in the course of historical changes, and later repaired several times, with a few wisps of modern atmosphere between the bricks and tiles, and the antiques in the building still cannot be hidden: wooden hanging tops, bucket-type beams, bas-relief ornaments engraved on pillar foundations, foreheads, hoop heads, finches and other components are painted with oil, symmetrical corridors, quiet and elegant halls, showing the rigorous design and exquisite construction of the college. The Elephant Mountain Academy in Great Britain is in this elegant atmosphere of the academy, inheriting the proud bones of the revolutionary martyrs.
After maintenance, Xiangshan College has now been used as the administrative office land of Xiangshan Middle School and the base for moral education publicity and education. Today, Xiangshan Academy is a municipal cultural relics protection unit in Suining.
Folklore
Xiangshan Flower Gong and Drum is a kind of original ecological situation music unique to Xiangshan Town, Daying County, also known as "Flower Gong" and "Juggling Gong". It was founded in the Qing Dynasty, is the Xiangshan Town at that time the surnames of the family in the agricultural leisure play a kind of self-entertainment drum music, derived from the Sichuan opera gong and drum variation, by the "play" and "sing" two parts, dialect of the local language, singing and playing blending, humorous and witty, interesting, can be called the Shudi Han national folk music "living fossil".
