白 鹇
Lophura nycthemera
鑒别特征
全長約100厘米。大型森林雉類，臉、腳鮮紅色。雄鳥尾可長過身體，背部、翅膀及尾巴白色，冠及下體藍黑色。雌性通體棕褐色。幼鳥外觀跟雌鳥接近，雄鳥逐漸變色。
Diagnosis
Total length~100cm. Large forest pheasant with bright red face and legs. Male with white back, wings and tail, crest and underparts blue-black; tail can be longer than body. Female is brown. Juvenile like female. Male undergoes gradual colour change.
生境與習性
中低海拔濕性常綠闊葉林、竹林、次生林及周邊人工林。結小群在林底活動。膽小，稍受幹擾快速逃離。
Habitat and Habits
Low to mid-altitude wet evergreen broad-leaved forests and neighbouring plantations. Terrestrial, form small flocks. Shy, flees silently with the slightest disturbance.
分布
華南至緬甸，中南半島至泰國。騰沖廣布。
Distribution
South of China to Myanmar, Indochina to Thailand. Widespread in Tengchong.
